Yep. That's correct. I personally still have Nebraska as top 5 all time. I was just pointing out that many of the traditional powers haven't even matched Nebraska recent success
Has anyone consulted the magic leprechaun unicorn computer for data?

I did read an article from Nebraska paper somewhere, talking about the fans being pissed off that the legacy seating is gone-unless the people make a $2500 dollar donation per seat, they lose them. And a number of people are just letting them go. Not going to pay.

It sounded just like the stuff that our fired AD Patterson was doing. Nebraska fans are mad because they think since they are getting a bazillion dollars from the B1G, they dont need to be asking for a minimum of $2500 per donation just to renew season tickets.

A quote was something like this, "They seem to think we dont have anything else to do in this state but go to these games. They better not test us on this matter, because we have a lot to do" or something to that effect.

That's not entirely true. Donation levels are locked in, so as long as you keep your seats you pay the same donation (or none at all, in some cases). Now I'm not sure if that can be passed down...I'd think not. There are a few (bad) seats in the stadium that don't require a donation, and the $2500 number is on the high end. Lowest donor level is $150 per seat. I had tickets last year and didn't have to donate because of a connection I have, but my seats would have been in the $250 donation area and they were great seats.

People bitching about the donation irritate me. It's not like that is new...and (to relate it to this topic) it's one of the reasons we have any chance at being relevant. Our sellout streak will likely end soon, more a casualty of the times and easier access to good television coverage than problems with the university, but regardless everybody around here still cares A LOT.

It might be the passed down seats, now that you mention it. I just scanned the article.

THink the biggest point they were making is, as a younger generation starts to fill in, they see things differently. They love their Huskers, but the 'sold out' streak does not mean that much to them. Think it was more a generational thing.

I would be in that younger generation...graduated from NU a little over a year ago. For me and most everybody I am friends with, this isn't the case. That may just be because I put myself around people who value the same things I do. I take pride in the sellout streak. I am likely going to be moving halfway across the country in the coming months, but if I had confirmation that I'd be here for the whole season, I'd buy my tickets tomorrow.

And that's probably where you got that $2500 number from...somebody's family had tickets ten rows up on the 50 and were paying no donation because they'd had them since the 1960s. Then the parents both die and the children have to start donating.

that sounds exactly like what I read. Think there was an example of someone who had seat from the 60s, and they were exempt. They died, and now the kids have to pay.

That's really not unreasonable when you think about it.

I've known people with season Texas tickets for that long, and several who gave them up in the past few years. Difference was, they were donors. But they got older, and the all-day affairs in triple digit heat got them I think, along with Patterson coming in and pissing everybody off. I hate it, because I was one of the people who sat in one of their seats over the past twenty years. Way back when, I was one of their younger clients in their business, became good friends and became the go-to-guy to use one of their seats whenever the Mrs didnt want to go.

I would love to know which University was the first to institute this donation level stuff.

My grandkids, if I ever have them, will be disinherited if they attend such institution.

It is very unlikely. But it would be funny to watch you guys eat shit if it happens.

brilliant addition

Stillwater to Morgantown 1,077 miles
Stillwater to Orlando FL 1,283
Morgantown WV to Orlando Fl 899 miles.

Quality add. WVU would really enjoy another conference mate far, far away.

UNLV has some ex-Nebraska players that are coaches, want to add them?

If that were to happen, doubtful those teams would be placed in the same division and would play each other every 2-3 years in conference. Not much difference than NU traveling to Columbus, OH (827) or Ann Arbor (747). Have you seen how far Syracuse and BC is to Miami and Tallahassee?

Again, unlikely.

Considering the talent in that state and the size of the school not terribly bad. I'd prefer more geographically desirable schools but when you consider the AAC is fine with UCONN visiting Tulsa and Houston I'm sure the Big 12 can afford a team in Florida.

Texas and Oklahoma would also like more desirable conferences. Conferences not called the Big 12.

Time to fend for yourself Okie Lite.

Make a deal if you can get it.

Agree to the last part.

Texas loves the Big 12 though. Not sure about Oklahoma.
