I really don't get this fascination with media and fans as to who is "elite" or not.

Flacco is no where near elite. He isn't even in the top ten when it comes to QB's. He has proven that over the last 4 years when he has never breached the tenth spot in any major passing category in the regular season. Eli, Ben, Matt, and 2 out of this years rookie class have done so. I appreciate what he did in the post season and that should get him more money, but not 3rd best player money.

Most of those are tied to the overall strength of his team rather than individual accomplishments.

Seahawk homer here. Maybe I am not understanding the quoted post but looking at Russell Wilson's #'s I show:
37 starts in 1st 2 seasons which would be a tie with Flacco.
56 starts in 1st 3 seasons which lead the NFL.
Most combined regular and postseason wins in first three years as a quarterback: 42 Leads the NFL.
He has only played for 3 years so a lot of the other stats he does not yet qualify for.
Make no mistake, I like Flacco and I think he is an awesome NFL QB.
It wouldn't surprise me if I missed the point, but if I read this correctly, it is not an accurate accounting.

I see much clearer now. Thanks. Looks like Russell has taken over a couple of those spots. I knew RW started his career fast but I did not realize Flacco had done so spectacularly.
