Realistic QB Options in the Offseason - Hogs Haven

If we somehow trade for Stafford and give up a 2nd or 3rd isnt this the same philoshy Bruce Allen did when trading for Alex Smith? We did have to give up Fuller and a 3rd to get Smith but if Stafford can be had for a 2nd or 3rd do we do it? Plus this author thinks that Jones or Trask wont be there when we pick in the 2nd round. We do have two 3rd round picks this year b/c of the Trent Williams trade. With our defense and if you add Stafford we should become instant contenders.

Adding a MLB like David from Tampa, Ioannidis coming back, another year for Curl, and this defense will legit be shutdown.

We can't wait on a rookie. This team is ready to contend, yes contend with the right QB.

Gotta make a move for a guy like Stafford or Carr while we have the cap space to do it. When we have to pay the D Line, that's when you hope a younger QB who we have groomed will be ready to step in for the vet we hopefully pick up this year.

I'd offer one of our 3rds this year and maybe a 2nd next year. Small price to pay to contend for an NFC crown next year.

A 1st in any year would be too rich for my blood and I'd have to move on.

Not a big Jones fan. Thats just me.

If we get Stafford, I'd pass on QB this year and draft one high next year.

We have the cap space to fill holes and more this year, so giving up a pick or two isn't a deal breaker for me.

Stafford is my preference, but we have to way of knowing if they will really let him go. We just need a vet with a live arm. Carr can play and Del Rio knows him.

I think Allen comes back no matter what, and if it were me I'd feel comfortable with him as our backup.

I was completely wrong on Darby. He's made me eat a little crow this year. He's been almost every bit as good as Dunbar was except he's been able to stay on the field which Dunbar couldn't.

No doubt we could use another corner, but imo we have more pressing needs.

We still have Morneau #25, not sure if he is a fA. Darby is a FA. Darby could get good money in FA we might lose him. He has been good for us this year.

There is one thing that screws the Stafford thing , and that’s the lions keeping stafford . Look at the dead cap they take ? Who is there QB ?

And this is why Snyder is at fault , we missed on DHC and the team is set back at QB

Right, but with a new coach wouldn't they move on from him to get cap relief and get draft picks? They cant compete in the NFC North. Same goes for Atlanta.

Not saying we can't use Darby, I believe he is a FA. I just don't want to spend money there when we could use the money elsewhere. I did see more of FM this past weekend which was a pleasant surprise.
