Damn. seems like we are being cursed for two years ago when we had hardly any injuries. Hunter, Crabs, Dorsey, Lloyd..... who's next? <crossing fingers>

i guess if there is any silver lining, in Crabtree and Lloyd's case, it is early training camp and not midseason.

Crabtree gets hurt almost every preseason, they just usually aren't significant. Same thing with Lloyd. Injuries happen; so far we've only lost one guy for the season. It's magnified slightly because the two most serious camp injuries to date came at the same position, but we've got the depth to absorb some of these.

Apart from Hunter's injury none of these should linger into the regular season. Hopefully Dorsey didn't tear his left bicep and possibly just strained it.

Torn. I wonder if that gives Okaye a greater shot to make the team.

That sucks. Dial might be the starting nt now.

It probably helps Dobbs more than Okoye. I'd think Dial will move inside, opening up a backup spot at DE. It's still pretty hard to see Okoye on the 53, bu we'll see.

Just great. It's like we're having an injury or two every single day.

I told the board that Harbaugh never should have fixed that pinky. (I heard he was getting it fixed right after the playoffs.) That explains this year's injuries. Someone told me that last years was karma. Karma from what? Lack of injuries in 2012? QB switch? All Khaki pants? Moving stadiums (construction)? Lights out at SB (not my opinion)?

Someone said that the CBA's emphasis on time-off would increase off the field trouble and on the field injuries in the off-season. I don't blame less practicing, but some sort of physical training contact from the team would help, though I'm sure it would be abused by talk of football, contracts, and made seem mandatory. You don't have to come, but doesn't the draft have some great prospects at [insert position] in great shape and young?

As far as us getting more or worse injuries, I don't know. We could have the same or fewer but at worse spots. I haven't really looked at other teams. KC, Dallas, and NY Giants have had some I've heard of (none were huge off the top of my head).

The players wanted to do less work, so this is what they get.

I've never complained about how much money they make because I figure if I were good enough and had the will, I'd make that much too. But I don't feel the least bit for them working year round before and wish that wasn't limited by the CBA. Make it voluntary, accept that teams will make it in effect mandatory and let them make millions for a year round job. Teams could ok workouts away if they wanted by effect of no pressure to come to voluntary workouts (some is injury prevention).

In 2010 and 2011, I believe we were the healthiest team in the league in terms of starters.

Well 2 of the 3 guys I was hoping the Niners could keep long-term for a bargain are out for the season. :( (Hunter & Dorsey).

1. Does this mean the Niners have him under contract for 2015 since he won't be playing in 2014?
2. The only silver lining I can see is possibly keeping those guys is to get 'em long-term for cheap now.
3. The other guy is Culliver, so let's hope I don't get the hat trick. :hope:

We don't get an extra year under contract out of those guys so far as I know. I think that only applies if they don't play in their rookie year.

I was just looking at PFT's all unemployed team, and if we need a short term fix at NT to spell Dial we have a couple of familiar options there:

PFT?s 2014 All-Unemployed Team | ProFootballTalk

Isaac Sopoaga, Aubrayo Franklin

Funny how we let those two go, they got their money elsewhere, and now a few years later we could have them for probably the league vet minimum
