AFC

AFC East---

Buffalo--Tyrod Taylor...27 years old/6th season. Taylor signed a three year 3 million dollar contract in March of 2015 there are rumblings he is unhappy with his contract and he is worth more. Taylor set records for completion percentage in a game(91.7%) and most pass attempts without an interception(222). Taylor threw 20TD/6INT,completed 242 of 380 passes(63%) for 3,035 yards and a 99.4 pass rating. Buffalo needs to keep Taylor happy after all he had the best season for a Bills QB in many years. EJ Manuel a 2013 first rounder once drafted as the future is now the backup QB at this point in time



Miami---Ryan Tannehill....28 years old/5th season. Tannehill signed a 6-year $96 million contract extension with the Dolphins through the 2020 season in May 2015. In 2015 Tannehill threw 24TD/12INT,completed 363 of 586 passes(62%) for 4,208 yards and a 89.2 pass rating. In October 2015 against Houston he became the 64th QB to post a perfect pass rating 158.3 as well as set the all-time NFL record for consecutive completed passes with 25. Tannehill has never had a winning season or made the postseason. Matt Moore a 10 year undrafted vet is the backup QB.





New England--Tom Brady....39 years old/17th season. Brady signed a two-year contract extension with the Patriots through the 2019 season in February 2016. Brady finished the 2015 regular season with a league leading 36 touchdown passes and only 7 interceptions. Brady has made six Super Bowls with the Patriots winning four. Jimmy Garoppolo a 2014 second rounder is backup QB.



N.Y. Jets---Undetermined but looking like Ryan Fitzpatrick or Geno Smith will be starting week one. The Jets drafted another QB so Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty are the backups.




AFC North---

Baltimore--- Joe Flacco....31 years old/9th season. Flacco agreed to a 3 year extension to remain with the team in March 2016. Flacco suffered a torn ACL and MCL Week 11 ,ending his 2015 season. Through ten games he threw 14TD and 12INT and had his worst year yet as a pro going 3-7 mainly due to the team being decimated by injuries. In his eight year career he has regularly made the postseason and won a Super Bowl in 2012. Ryan Mallett a 2011 third rounder and six year vet is backup.




Cincy--- Andy Dalton......29 years old/6th season. In August 2014 Dalton was signed to a six-year contract extension through 2020 for 115 million dollars. In 2015 Dalton finished the year with 3,250 yards and 25 touchdowns, with 7 interceptions. The Bengals have made the playoffs in each of Dalton's first five seasons. AJ McCarron a 2014 fifth rounder is the backup QB.



Pittsburgh---Ben Roethlisberger....34 years old/13th season. In March 2015, Roethlisberger signed a five-year contract extension with the Steelers. In 2015 Roethlisberger completed 196 of 295,(66% completion rate) 2,620 yards for 17TD and 11INT. Roethlisberger has the fourth highest career winning percentage (.710) as a starter in the regular season among quarterbacks with a minimum of 100 starts and has won two Super Bowls. Landry Jones a 2013 fourth rounder is the backup QB.


Cleveland---RGIII......26 years old/5th season....In March 2016, Griffin signed a two-year, $15 million contract with the Cleveland Browns. In 2015 he didn't play any and is hoping to rejuvinate his career after a great rookie season followed by struggles the rest of his time there. Austin Davis and Connor Shaw are the backup QB's for now.



AFC South---

Houston---Brock Osweiler.....25 years old/5th season. In March 2016, Osweiler signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Houston Texans. Osweiler spent his first four years barely playing while sitting behind starter Peyton Manning. For 2015 he completed 170 of 275 passes(61.8%) for 1,967 yards,10TD and 6INT. In April 2016 Brandon Weeden a five year vet and 2012 first rounder re-signed with the Texans on a two-year, $4 million contract as backup.



Indy---Andrew Luck...27 years old/5th season. In April of 2015 the Colts announced they had picked up the fifth-year option on Luck's contract, which will pay him a guaranteed $16.55 million in 2016. Luck led the Colts to three straight playoff berths before an injury plagued 2015 season put an early end to that season as the team struggled in his absence. For 2015 he completed 162 of 293 passes(55.3%) for 1,881 yards with 15TD and 12INT. In March of 2016 Scott Tolzien an undrafted six year vet signed a 2-year contract worth $3,500,000 with $500,000 guaranteed to be backup QB.


Jax----Blake Bortles....24 years old/3rd season. Bortles has this season and next left on his rookie contract. For 2015 Bortles completed 355 of 606 passes(58.6%) for 4,428 yards,35TD and 18INT. Bortles was seventh in the NFL in passing yards and set the Jaguars single-season franchise records for passing touchdowns (35), passing yards, (4,428), pass completions (355), and pass attempts (606). His passer rating only went below 80 twice in the season. Chad Henne a nine year vet and 2008 second rounder signed a two-year, $8 million contract extension in February 2016 to remain backup.


Tennessee----Marcus Mariota....22 years old/2nd season...Mariota is in the second season of his rookie contract. For 2015 Mariota completed 230 of 370 passes(64%) for 2,818 yards and 19TD and 10INT. Mariota set many records as a rookie QB including becoming the first rookie quarterback in NFL history to have two games with four touchdowns and no interceptions. Holds an NFL record for touchdown passes in his first 3 games (8). Mariota gained a perfect passer rating of 158.3, making him the first quarterback in NFL history to attain a perfect passer rating in his first regular season game. Mariota became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw four touchdown passes in the first half of his NFL debut. He is also the youngest quarterback to reach the perfect passer rating. Matt Cassel a twelve year vet and 2005 seventh rounder signed with the Titans in March 2016. Cassel and Zach Mettenberger will compete for backup QB spot.



AFC West
---

Kansas City----Alex Smith....32 years old/12th season.....In August 2014, Smith and the Chiefs agreed to a four-year contract extension. For 2015 Smith completed 307 of 470 passes(65%) for 3,486 yards,20TD and 7INT. Smith has led the team to the postseason two out of his first three seasons in Kansas City. Aaron Murray a three year vet and 2014 fifth rounder will be the backup QB.

Oakland-----Derek Carr......25 years old/3rd season....Carr will be in the third year of his rookie contract in 2016. For 2015 Carr completed 350 of 573 passes(61%) for nearly 4,000 yards, 32TD and 13INT. Carr is the first Raiders quarterback to be named to the Pro Bowl since Rich Gannon in 2002. After two seasons, Carr has 53 career touchdown passes, the second most by a quarterback in his first two seasons, behind Dan Marino. Matt McGloin undrafted will be entering his fourth year and is the backup QB.


San Diego----Phillip Rivers...34 years old/13th season...In August 2015, the Chargers and Rivers agreed to a 4-year, $84 million contract extension. For 2015 Rivers completed 437 of 661 passes(66%) for 4,792 yards,29TD and 13 INT. Rivers career pass rating of 95.7 is fourth-best all-time among NFL quarterbacks with at least 1,500 passing attempts.Rivers is ranked third all time for consecutive starts by a QB n NFL history. Rivers holds many Chargers and NFL passing records. Kellen Clemens an 11 year vet and 2006 second rounder is the Chargers backup QB.


Denver---Mark Sanchez.....29 years old/8th season....In March 2016 the Philadelphia Eagles sent Mark Sanchez to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a conditional 2017 draft pick. Sanchez will make 4.5 million this season most likely as starter. In 2015 Sanchez completed 59 of 91 passes(64.8%) for 616 yards for 4TD and 4INT. Not sure who is backup for Denver in 2015.

I was one of those people who had a pitchfork to offer up Dalton, but he made a believer out of me from this past season. I hope he still performs at the level he was at before his thumb injury.

Still a little uneasy about how he's going to perform when it comes to the playoffs though.

Fitz isn't on their roster...

I think the later and later this gets, the harder it is for him to come back... Right now the Jets are over the salary cap with their rookies (when they sign them) and didn't get anything in the 2016 draft for Wilkerson, so immediate help AND salary cap relief is very likely gone (can get 2017 picks or players that would likely cost).
I think with Hackenberg, the Jets basically said they are fine with Geno as their bridge and give Hack a shot.
