Good move

He rarely tweets and only does so if he finds he has something important to say. Doesn’t even have the app downloaded. Wish more people were like him!

Im going to laugh if he doesn't excel in Sumlin's offense and the Navy coach tweets out, "should've gone with the triple option!"

Smart move on Tate's part. The PAC isn't an option conference nor has it ever been. Take that shit back east but don't be trying it out west.

I mean, I see the point of him doing what he did. But... this ain't the NFL. He won't be there for 10 years or so. So how could this have impacted the coaching hire?

Think about it. Ken (coach at Navy) has a solid resume and has built a standing program at Navy. They've had some 9+ win seasons and average about 8 wins a season. So he's obviously doing something right.

Can’t speak for any other West team, but Air Force kicks our ass every year with the triple option.

It might work for Air Force but the PAC 12 gets most of its recruits from California and those kids don't mess with the option unless its maybe the read option and even that is few and far between.

Take a look at Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech for your answer as to why he wouldn't really work. He'll have the occasional 10+ win season (2 in 10 seasons and none since 2014).

Next thing, the triple option doesn't play into NFL schemes. You don't see GT players flying off the board. So how do you recruit that?

GT recruiting rankings in the ACC-
2018- 10 out of 14
17- 9th
16- 11th

Sumlin might not be a world beater, but he gets talent and gets it to the NFL. A triple option coach doesn't

I always like seeing players speaking up. Be interesting to see how it will all work out.

It's Arizona. They should be worried about water availability and sandstorms.
