You're crazy dood. I don't think anyone has got the best the 49ers have to offer yet, except maybe Green Bay. And I can't even say that since special teams let the Packers back in the game.

I hope you are right because Staley and Goodwin looks like garbage thus far... IMO

Even in that Green Bay game. If they continue to play like this, I dont see us offering anything better

If you ask me the Texans may be the league's best team right now.

I agree, but you cant win them all. You are going to lose games like this along the way. Hell look at the Giants and when they win the superbowl they barelt squeak in. Im not saying im happy about this loss but its not the end of the world. I think we got used to winning a lot that we forgot how to lose. We will rebound.

yep, did anyone expect we'd go 16-0? pretty sure most pre-season predictions were 11-5 followed by 10-6?

right now, the important thing is not lose two in a row.

Just for fun, ignore it if it's off-base or waste of your time.

This list is not a prediction of the future, just a current standings for me that will change. If we go based upon record, reputation, who they beat, and how they played, I'd say:

1. Atlanta (played better teams than Houston)
2. Houston (better than Atlanta but weaker opponents)
3. Niners (two huge wins make up for one loss)
4. Baltimore (big win over NE < our win over GB/DET)
5. Giants (Benefit of the doubt, record)
6. Green Bay (assuming they win tonight)
7. Arizona (need some recognition)
8. San Diego (record-based, beat nobody though)
9. Detroit (will pick it up)
10. Dallas (only record based)
11. Denver (Peyton Manning, but can't put them top ten until .500)
12. Chicago (record based, unimpressed, may play better)
13. Buffalo (Somewhere in the mix, likely will fall)
14. Philadelphia (record-wise, but this could go either way)
15. Jets (record-based, hopefully falls this weekend)
16. Pittsburgh (reputation based, likely will rise, one more loss and it goes down)
17. Washington (will rise after a few close losses, would put them higher, but losses are losses)
18. Cincinnati (same as Buffalo)
19. Minnesota (have to give credit for beating us)
20-32 Does it matter?

I don't know what to think about Buffalo. Arizona will fall. Pittsburgh will rise. New England will rise, too. Denver will be there, too - they had a tough opening schedule (not as tough as ours, though). I tried to put 1-2 teams lower than most 2-1 teams, might have missed something.

Depending how next week goes, we could jump one or both. Baltimore could do the same. New York and Green Bay will be better, but not better than Baltimore and Niners. Unless Green Bay wins big tonight.

there is just more parity in the NFL. there are still good teams and bad teams, but the gap has closed a little bit more.

there are no easy wins cause on any given Sunday.......teams get hot and teams get cold.

I'm keeping Green Bay where they are, because they didn't lose that game... they didn't win it top ten style - but they'll be back. Seattle has a great defense.

They should. The Jets play man to man and Alex Smith can see who is covering his receivers before the play starts. In this case he only has to worrry about accuracy, and doesn't have to worry about getting fooled by the zone. Reading coverage is Smith's weakness. I expect him to excel against the Jets.
