Giants wont take a QB. They already have a franchise QB.
they need help elsewhere
If Daniel Jones is a franchise QB...than Gettleman is the best GM in the NFL and we all know that is crazy

Gettleman maybe but DJ truly has issues with inferior Oline play at the moment. Add the injuries and the loss of Saquon... Gnats have legit reasons to remain patient with their rookie QB imoHe's a turnover machine but the Giants are an impatient franchise. Gettleman could be gone and so will Jones
That's what I'm thinking too. Gettleman and Jones are on a short leash

That’d be interesting for sure. Hard to turn down a prospect like Lawrence. That said, I don’t believe Gnats are as bad as their record and I don’t believe they’ll end up with the #1 pick. Time will tell the story.Unless they wind up with the No. 1 overall pick

Btw, How did a Seahawks fan end up in Hoboken?
Some excellent points here. Decision making and ball security are things that can taught imo. Of course there is always a cut off point in terms of what is best for the team.It more than that, plus that has nothing to do with protecting the ball in the pocket. There is no reason to have that many fumbles. There are a lot more issues with Jones.
When he got drafted I said the only thing special about him is his short accuracy...so far this year his deep ball completion has actually been really good. Unfortunately, that's really the only thing he is doing well. He was #2 on danger plays or risk plays last year, #6 this year...basically throwing unnecessary throws into coverage.
He was #24 in the NFL when he had a clean pocket. He is awful in the RZ despite having the 4th most attempts in the RZ in the NFL. Yes, he does have a shitty OL but if you look at their unit it shouldn't be towards the bottom of the NFL. They have Thomas, the rookie, Hernandez and Zeitler. I think Jones' pocket presence is very bad. He is too slow with his decision-making, making reads and often just runs into sacks or holds the ball too long.
Do I think these issues can be fixed? Yeah possibly but it's kinda like Washington. How long are they going to wait especially if they have a top 3 pick and one of the best QB prospects of all-time at the top of the board. I think he can develop but if Gettleman gets fired...that new GM could want his guy.

I’m Gettleman gets fired and they have a top 3 pick, then I agree, all bets are off the table with DJ.
That’s where they need to add to their talent pool. Can’t just have a stud RB, and nothing else. Take a look at the Rams and what they do with a crew of RBs. That’s because of excellent line play. Now you’re stat about DJ in the RZ was interesting to me. Inefficiency there can be many reasons more then what the stats suggest. I haven’t been paying much attention to the Gnats games so I don’t know what it looks like on the actual field, so can’t comment intelligently about this.Their defense seems to be pretty solid but it seems like the offense revolves more around Barkley than Jones and Barkley seems to be on his way to an injury-riddled career. I hope he can get back into form bc he is an exciting player to watch.
Or sits on the bench and learns. Win winYeah I mean I don't think it's that Jones is terrible, it's more about Lawrence just being that much better. The goal is to improve the team...I think you significantly upgrade with Lawrence...then maybe Jones eventually improves with another team.

Playing those defenses certainly doesn't help a young guy. Maybe we should see what the kid does vs. shitty Ds. But yeah, you can't pass on Lawrence.Mm, last year he was 61.1%, 24 TD's to 12 INT's, 6.6 YPA, 87.7 not terrible for a rookie.
This year bad, 6.0 YPA, 2 TD's, 5 INT's. 14 sacks, 2 fumbles.
Looking at their run game, though:
vs PIT: 29 yards, 22 by Jones
vs CHI: 75/21
vs SF: 66/49
vs LAR: 136/45
They were competitive against CHI and LAR. Golden Tate has 14 receptions for 103 yards. Gettleman moved OBJ, Barkley out for the year. DJ is not getting enough help.
That being said, I'd draft Lawrence for sure, gotta take that chance. Gettleman may try to outsmart himself again, though.
