Depends. What team is Brady on? If you simply remove Brady and add Peyton to the Patriots....hmm...

He probably doesn't win the Tuck Rule game. (-1)
But he also probably makes the playoffs the next year.
He would win 03-04 for sure. 06 and 07 as well. (+2)
Brady and Peyton both missed a season so thats a push.
Im guessing Peyton would win one of these 'almost' seasons the Pats have had in the past couple (+1)

5 would be my guess but he probably would've contended for 7-8 if Brady wasnt there

:laugh3:

Good stuff.

If Manning is drafted in 98 and has the success he had in 99, Belichek would never be hired.

If the Pats were good in '97 Peyton is never drafted by the Pats in '98...

Sure he is... They trade Bledsoe and their #1 and #2 picks for the top pick.

I'm guessing Hershel Walker is part of the trade.

No, but the team with the top pick that they trade with is SF after a 1-15 season. The Pats were desperate after getting stomped in the SB by Seattle.

People need to look back at Peyton Manning's post season and look at how many of those losses his team failed to score 20 points.

Then come back and blame his defense.

So making him a Pat would automatically make him a better QB in the post season where he's looked average?

He'd still lose to the Saints, which is all that matters.

If Manning played for the Patriots he'd have 5+ superbowl rings and probably 4 MVPS. The Patriots defense won all of those championships, not the offense. Manning's intelligence toppled with receiver sets and an unlimited amount of time to throw the ball and nobody would stop him.

For you Patriot fans who claim he beat a lousy Rex Grossman. Rex Grossman had a 76% completion percentage in that game, 3rd best all-time in a Super Bowl. The Chicago Bears defense that year was probably the best defense I've seen my entire life, besides the 1985 Chicago Bears defense. Peyton Manning managed to throw over 300 yards in that game on that defense. Rex Grossman had a great day passing the ball but the Bears simply couldn't get it done. It was a lot better matchup then the New York Giants, who both times were 9-7 and barely made the playoffs, and somehow managed to win all their games and win the Super Bowl over the undefeated and one loss Patriot teams. Now that is an epic choke.

Peyton Manning with 8 seconds to find a receiver on every pass play like Brady gets, and Manning would be unstoppable. Now if you switch the roles, and Brady needing to get the ball thrown within 2 seconds of every pass and Brady would no longer be playing in the NFL if he played on the Colts for the majority of those years. There is no way Brady can release the ball that fast even with a Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne on the team. Brady would lead the NFL in sacks and would be booted off the field by Colts fans by the bye week first season he played, guaranteed.

So let's see...

Manning had the likes of Marvin Harrison & Reggie Wayne catching for him HIS ENTIRE CAREER Indianapolis, and then he moves on to the likes of Damariyus Thomas, Wes Welker and Erik Decker in Denver.

The Patriots have had Troy Brown, Deion Branch, David Givens, David Patten, Reche Caldwell, 3 seasons worth of Randy Moss, 6 seasons of Wes Welker, and now that Danny Amendola is injured I think the homeless guy who lived in the Patriots' dumpster is their leading receiver.

Yeah, he would've done much better in New England.

NinerSickness, it's not about what weapons they have. It's about how long of a time frame they have to throw the football. Manning only had 2 seconds before he could throw the ball before he would be sacked when he played for the Colts. Tom Brady has had the most time of ANY QB IN NFL HISTORY before he had to throw the ball. Tom Brady has on average of 7 seconds before he has to release the ball before being sacked. That's is pathetic dude. If Manning had that amount of time to camp in the pocket find any of those receivers he would find them. You clearly know nothing about the game. Brady also doesn't have good pocket awareness, which is the reason why he has more career sacks than Manning does. Since we are looking at stats, why don't you look at the sack% and see that Manning and Marino has the fastest release times in NFL history, while Brady is way back in the list. Pretty much explains it all doesn't it? Do you even research statistics or do you just assume how a QB is over rated because he's had good receivers or bad ones? Last time I checked, Deion Branch is in the top 30 all-time for receptions, Troy Brown is just a little further down the list. Even though they weren't as talented as Harrison and Wayne was, they could still catch the ball. Brady doesn't usually throw farther than ten yard passes anyways, so if you can't catch a football within ten yards you shouldn't be playing in the NFL to begin with. You act like this is high school football talent versus NFL talent. It's amazing that you leave out Gronkowski, Hernandez, Johnson, and a few others to that list that are not dumpster receivers.

I am confused is it 7 on average or 8 on average?

LOL, There are plenty of arguments to be made for the merits of Peyton Manning, no need to reach with bullshit about how good Rex Grossman was and how the 06 Bears defense was one of the best ever. Maybe if you consider STs part of the defense.

Your username is almost proof by itself that you know less about football than I do, and football
is a sport I don't really like or study much.

Manning, better than Joe Montana or Johnny Unitas or Bob Griese? NOT!

You know what I meant. He has all day to throw the ball back there. Just imagine if Manning had that much time to find an open player. Records would be broken. To top it off, the Patriots defense was so dominant in the past 13 years that Brady rarely ever had to go far to score a touchdown. He always had great field position.
