I'm willing to say they weren't completely washed, but they were on their way out. Nobody at the time thought the Lakers were what they were in the 80's. It was seen as their last horrah. I don't think you were there and know what you're talking about. I think you're a newbie who is trying to put together things without context.

It was like the 1969 Celtics, except the Celtics actually beat a much better team (With Jerry West, Wilt, and Elgin Baylor), led by a guy (Bill Russell) who you discredit because you have no context of history, but I digress.

The Pistons swept the Lakers two years earlier even with Kareem, granted Magic was dinged up. Its already been pointed out to him that that group never won another playoff series after Magic retired. And even with that they're probably the best team Jordan faced in the finals. Maybe the Jazz. Either way his opponents in the finals are a major reason he went undefeated

LeBron certainly does not suck, he's just nowhere near as great as his fans make him out to be.

Off the top of my head I'd take Jordan, Jabbar, Duncan, Dream and Bird over LeBron as "players"... maybe even Wilt and Shaq but those two guys were such HUGE liabilities at the FT line I'd have to think long/hard about it. Then again LeBron isn't exactly lights-out from the line either, especially in the clutch.... hell. I even heard talk that he puposely shys away from taking the last shot/s in tight games for fear he'll get fouled and he forced to the line.

Regardless, there's lots of guys I'd take over James... now if we're talking their entire career body of work like on a GOAT list, then that list is shorter of course, but I'd still rank MJ, Jabbar, Russ and Duncan (and maybe a couple others) higher on the AT list.

I always laugh at people that need a reason to have issues with him. So to you anyone that says something decent about him is a fan?

Let's see how biased you truly are. You got Kobe ranked ahead of LeBron? Now keep in mind LeBron averages more pts, rebs, asts, stls, blk, has a better FG% a better 3-point %, has more total all star selections and more 1st team selection.
