We need to out Kelly the Eagles. Every time the offense goes onto the field Kirk needs to have six plays ready to go. And 2-3 subs at Wr and Rb ready to go who know the script. I dont think the eagles defense can hold up to the kind of pace their offense likes to run. From jump run a four minute offense and spread them out early and often. get on em early and I think the eagles defense is ripe to succumb to exactly what their own offense counts on.

I like a ball control game with a lot of running to eat the club. If it works it keeps the Eagle offense on the sideline and they can't hurry up from there. Our Dline is a little thin with Cofield and Golston hurt.

This.:agree:

The worst thing that can happen is if the Eagles jump out to an early lead and Gruden feels he needs to catch up. Although we have a pretty fast team, we can't keep up with the Eagles in a shootout. I'm concerned about our Defense and them getting gassed by the pace of the Eagles O. This will lead to some blown plays. I won't be surprised it see McCoy or Sproles break off a long one against us.

IM fine with ball control, but you can still keep a faster pace.

I agree completly about the ball control as well.....However, I disagree with the run fast paced stuff...We are the Washington Redskins, and need to play OUR game...not the Philly game, Ne game, etc...But skins game......go to huddle, get together, get our plays, and run the ball down their fucking throats!!!!take our time....milk the clock keep their O and our D on the sidelines as much and as long as possible!!!!

well shark is right with ball control and tempo . but ball control can be achieved by run and pass

if we get a few 3 and outs early because the run is slow in coming around we will be in trouble

so we may have to use the passing game to open it up . be aggressive but be smart

while this is going on our defense HAS to step up and shut down the eagles .

Joe Gibbs sorta did that a few times in his first stint.... I think he ran a no huddle offense vs the Bills in SB XXVI, sort of a taste of their own medicine. I believe they had the offense running no huddle all week in practice to help the defense prepare, and they decided to use it in the game.

In this case though I think the opposite may help. Run the play clock down to 1 second on every snap to help the defense rest. If we go 3-n-out and take just a few seconds off the clock, the defense will get gassed really quick, like week 1 last year. If we take 2 to 3 minutes minimum for every possession, it helps the defense recover and be ready.

Either way you approach it, the Eagles tempo presents some unique challenges. The best way to fight it is to keep them on the bench.
