Kind of like what Rock told us was going to happen with Garoppollo this year?

Too bad Rock is on diaper duty :rolleyes2: and can't post right now so you could take it up with him.

True, Marino and Brees were never blessed with teams as talented as Brady and their teams successes proved that out. But Imagine if Marino was on these Pats teams? The Giants would have been utterly crushed in both SBs...he would be seen as Babe Ruth

Marino was a playoff choke artist.

No he wasn't. He just didn't have as much talent around him.

Marino was practically equally as deadly passing the ball at home as he was on the road when you compare the overall efficiency. Drew Brees has rode the home dome hard for his numbers.

Brees has put together a HOF career, but he's no Marino.
Marino played his worst football in the playoffs. He was an amazing regular season QB though.

Marino was on teams that were loaded on both sides of the ball. He just didn't get it done in the playoffs.

Marino was a great passer. Not a great QB. I'd still put him in the top 10 all time but barely.

No playoffs and certainly no SB win. Poor comparison.

Dude can't even keep the Dallas backup job and he lead the Patriots to 11 wins. Excellent comparison. The dude is garbage and he piloted the machine to an excellent season.

He was along for the ride. No more, no less.

Young on the other hand guided SF to a SB win along with multiple playoff appearances.

I think Brees and Marino had a shit-ton of talent on their teams over the years. They just never had a coach as good as Belichick. I grew up watching those Miami Dolphins teams in the 80's and they were loaded with talent. Brady would love having a duo like Clayton and Duper to throw to.

I never got to see Montana play. Tom Brady is the best QB I have watched play, as much as it pains me to admit it. Manning is the best regular season QB of all time IMO, but greatness is measured by playoff success.

Favre is probably my favorite NFL QB that I watched play.

Thanks Homer.

Brady is the greatest QB ever to play. Montana was a nice little system QB

Let's face it, SF didn't miss a beat when Steve Young took over the "system".

Those SF teams were so overloaded with talent that it was disgusting. Bill Walsh could have had Ryan Leaf at QB and won, I think.

QB's get babied to much these days. QB's back in the day didn't have the advantages today's QB's do. No way to compare to the two era's.

I watched Montana play. Lived in the Bay Area at the time. Walsh coached a very good team and Montana was definitely part of that greatness. Lots of fans / teams have had very good QB's but did not accomplish as much.
Montana got it done.....
