Well I sure hope Muggsy Bogues & Spud Webb are part of the coaching staff.
Nate Robinson too. They all dunk better than any of the giants could.

Good call on Nate! He'd fit right in w/ that larger than life coaching staff.

Guess he better thank LeBron for the rest of his life...

If I could I'd thank LeBron every damn day for returning to the Cavs & not signing w/ the Lakers.:D

I think the L.A. D-Fenders will win more games than the Lakers this upcoming season.

And this differs from his other arguments how? :noidea:
i apologize for the argument not being as great as this hot take of yours from April '13

Reports out here are that Howard is a virtual lock to re-sign!! He's simply not going to walk away from what the Lakers can offer him compared to what the rest of the league can offer.

While I agree that Kobe and Dwight were never going to completely peacefully co-exist, the way they were playing together over the last several games indicates that they figured out how to play together in a way that both could live with. Plus Dwight knows that Kobe is likely to retire after next year anyway. The team will then be re-built around him and his particular talents.

I think that if Kobe were to re-sign beyond next season, he would have to accept considerably less money than he is making this year and a reduced role on the team and it would be for more than 1 or 2 years.

If he did accept those things, I'd be shocked as he has said that he doesn't want to be that guy hanging on at the end of his career averaging 15-16 points per game!!

And according to Dwight (and contrary to popular belief) he and Kobe are friends and have been for years. Dwight actually went to visit Kobe in the hospital twice on the day of his surgery.

Mike D'Antoni will have the Rockets playing top notch defense once the season tips off.

"I would love to continue to give my knowledge to the game. I would love to be a part of a franchise -- if not at the top. ... My dream is to actually own a team. I don't need to [be] fully hands-on. If I'm fortunate enough to own a team, then I'll going to hire the best GM and president that I can. But I feel like I got a good eye for not only talent, because we all see a lot of talent, but the things that make the talent. The chemistry, what type of guy he is, his work ethic, his passion, the basketball I.Q. side of things. Because talent only goes so far."

Are you implying Whiteside doesn't have passion and work ethic?

Your point? Oh yeah, you don't have one. There's nothing inaccurate in that post based on what was being reported at the time. It was, in fact, being reported that Dwight was a virtual lock to re-sign and Dwight himself said that he and Kobe were friends.

Once again... you fail.

ohh okay....i gotcha

next time I am horribly wrong ill just say- well- "thats what everyone was reporting at the time."

all though- i do have to hand it to you- the part about Dwight visiting Kobe TWICE in the hospital was just heartwarming. Those two guys obviously have a very special relationship.

If he didn't have a passion or work ethic, he would have quit on basketball a long time ago. Guys who don't have passion/work ethic would not make it back to the NBA after playing overseas for several years. It just shows how stupid you are. Guys who fight to get back in the league after not being good enough on their first go around are actually the guys who work really hard and passionate about basketball. Someone not passionate about basketball would have never went overseas to play. They would have just found something else to do with their career.

Also assuming any basketball player doesn't work hard is a ridiculous accusation when you don't what players do in their free time. You have no idea how often players are in a gym working on their game. You just sound like the clown that you are. I would never assume any of these guys don't work hard because I'm not around these players to know what they do during the off season or on off days during the regular season. Assuming something like that is really stupid

And you know this how? You do realize it is a stupid assumption
i know this from the fact despite him being talented with a lot of potential- he fell in the draft because of work ethic and attitude concerns, he got sent to the dleague and couldnt get playing time because of work ethic and attitude concerns, he was subsequently released and couldnt find a job in the NBA for YEARS despite being an athletic as hell 7 footer becuase of his poor work ethic and attitude----

he had to go bounce around every podunk - B-level league in the world before he finally realized- WAIT- I HAVE A TON OF TALENT- IF I JUST TRY AND ACT LIKE A NORMAL FUNCTIONING HUMAN BEING for a few months- I can get a TON of money.

He comes back to the US- signs with the Heat- gets released by the Heat- signs with the Grizzlies- gets released by the Grizzlies- resigns with the Heat.

THEN- once he gets his upteenth chance- I can find you- and HAVE found you quotes from Wade, Spoelstra, Bosh etc. calling out his work ethic, his propensity to baby injuries, etc....

Hey- you guys are welcome to your opinion. Maybe you think he has turned a corner. Maybe you think since he has been back - despite the 3 cheap shots he has taken at guys and everything else- that he is a changed man. That getting a hundred million guaranteed means he is gonna be a model citizen. If thats the case- more power to you- you are certainly welcome to your opinion.

Me? I think that relying on years and years of conduct is a lot more accurate than the time he has been back in the league- and in that time its not like he has even been on his best behavior. That is truly the most astounding thing to me---- he gets this 2nd chance- and you STILL see him cheap shotting players, you STILL have Spoelstra call him out in the media, you STILL have Wade calling him out in the media.

so- sure- if you think he has turned the corner- I cant say you are wrong right now. We shall see.

I base my opinion on years and years of conduct- and the fact that he no longer has any kind of carrot after being guaranteed 90 million.

I guess we shall see who is right in the long run. I am MORE than confident I will be- you can always count on a duck to quack like a duck.

Uh, that's exactly what was being reported at the time. That's why the first sentence said "Reports out here are that..."

See, that's the difference between stating what is actually being reported and doing what you do which is just making shit up.

If you want to see a guy who is not passionate about basketball, look no further than Andrew Bynum or Larry Sanders. Whiteside loves the game

Exactly. It's a fact that, for whatever reason, Whiteside took longer than most to figure shit out. Everyone is different, it happens.

It's also a fact that he now seems to have finally figured things out and appears to be on the right track. Could he have another incident that causes him to be suspended for a game (or even a few)? Sure, guys are going to try to continue to bait him until he proves once and for all that he knows how to handle it.

Could he let all of the money that he just got go to his head and stop working? Maybe. But this doesn't seem likely given how hard he's worked to get where he is.

Another thing that I think has to be considered is that he stayed in Miami. As disappointed as I was that he didn't go to the Lakers...I think it was smart of him to stay where he is comfortable and there is already a blueprint for him to be successful.

Of course, 10 years from now when he's ready to announce his retirement, Wiggy will be predicting that he'll meltdown and get suspended from his own press conference.

duh.....i mean- isnt that a very large piece of what i have been saying for months upon months

But you are wrong..and have been for months.

Despite the obvious, which is RESULTS in his game, why on earth would a pretty no nonsense, well structured team like the Heat sign him to a max if they didn't like what they've seen from him over the past 2 seasons?

The other teams were the ones bidding on the unknown.

If you followed Whiteside on social media, you would know and see just how often he is at the gym and how motivated and focused he is.

What he does in his free time, who cares?

Better he plays video games then runs around to clubs and South Beach IMO.

Yep also seems like Whiteside doesn't even travel either. It seems like he spent most of his offseason in Miami with a visit to Charlotte but honestly as you said, Whiteside free time seems to be spent in the gym or at home playing NBA2K16
