anyone can go back and find multiple posts on how I have said- if we are talking about JUST PURE TALENT- I think I would even have to go with Whiteside. But if it was JUST pure talent that reigned in the NBA things would be a lot different.

One guy goes out of his way for personal stats. The other guy would sacrifice personal stats without a second thought

One guy is the NBA leader in consecutive games played, plays through injuries, plays hurt, and doesnt complain- while the other guy gets called out by his teammates for babying injuries

Whiteside also is a pig who cant guard the pick and roll, cant guard the 3 pt line, cant switch on defense--- all MAJOR issues in todays NBA where everyone tries to switch and everyone is shooting tons of threes---it just soo happens that those exact things thtat make a defender so versatile and valuable in todays NBA are the EXACT things Thompson excels at --- switching onto guards of wings and doing a solid job, guarding out to the 3 pt line, showing on the high pick and roll!

One guy has proven that when the game escalates, and it gets tough- that the best comes out in him. When the game escalates for Whiteside- he turns into a dirty piece of shit thug and gets booted out of the game- its happened THREE TIMES in a year- Len, Olnyk and then the one just recently where he let the backup Euro Boban on the Spurs dominant him mentally. The guy gets SUSPENDED and EJECTED during a playoff race when his team is being brought low by injuries already. Selfish to the max.

Not only that- but while this guy was 24 years old and playing in the Lebaneese league and dominating the Tripoli the Turtles, Tristan Thompson was 24 years old and starting in a Finals Series where he averaged OVER a double double.

One guys stats show how the team plays BETTER Without him and how his team sent him from the starting lineup to the bench--- while the other guy was playing so well he had to go from the bench to the starting lineup. Game set match right there as far as i am concerned---- unless you think AMare Stoudemire is just AMAZING and took Whitesides job!!! LOL

Rebounds is not a personal stat. It is a team stat. It means he either reward his team with an extra offensive possession or prevented the opposing offense from getting a 2nd chance to score. Considering the way he scores, I don't think it is a personal stat either. He get most of his points on dunks off offensive rebounds or dribble penetration.

You didn't mention the 'just talent' part u till about page 42 here if I'm correct.
The talent level isn't even close.
Tristan is a highly overpaid role player.
The basketball skills of Whiteside make him near unique.

So you really think that Whiteside got demoted because he isn't starting?
That line, alone, shows you don't understand anything.
Give Spoelstra credit for trying to mix and match his roster so he can get the hopeful best production over the entire 48 minutes of the game.

For example, if I am guarding Andre Drummond (aside from getting my ass beat to a bloody pulp) my job would be to keep him from getting the rebound and letting my teammates clean up. If I go after the board myself and fail to knock Drummond off his position, then I may be hurting the team's chances of getting the board, even if I were able to snag a bunch myself (not likely).
