well he has to be starting playing starters minutes, not suspended or not injured. lol.

Thompson- you can put his name in permanent marker in the lineup from now until the last game of the season and hes gonna show up, hurt or not, give 100% effort and make you proud of the way he represents the franchise. As I have said- there are not two guys more opposite of how they operate- and that is meant as tremendous compliment to TT and a tremendous slight to Whiteside.

You don't have to start to play starters minutes.
Try looking at total minutes played .
Does he now play equal or more then the other starters?

You can put any spin on it you want.
One player leads the league in blocks ( by a very wide margin), and now has moved into 5th in the league in rebounding, and the other guy is just that..another guy.
The difference between Tristan and the other guys just like him is that he signed with Klutch and it doubled his pay.

And, you can pencil him in, because Mozgov sucks and you have no other decent bigs.

And, PLEASE, quit acting like the Cavs wouldn't want Whiteside because of character issues.
There isn't one team in the league at this point who wouldn't want him for that reason.

You can preach that bullshit night and day, but you're a Buckeye fan, and you have no problem with Urban or any of the shit he lets those players get away with.

Whiteside's first rebound was the 1,000th of his Heat career, in 95 games. That's the fastest anyone has reached that milestone in Heat history, ahead of Alonzo Mourning (96), Kevin Willis (98) and Shaquille O'Neal (99), and it came one game after Whiteside was the quickest to record 300 blocks in a Miami uniform. ''It matters because it's history. It's Heat history,'' Whiteside said.

If I wanted the better stats and the better entertainment and better sports center value id go with Whiteside.

If I wanted to WIN an NBA championship I would without a doubt take Thompson. Whiteside is simply not the type of guy you can win with- ESPECIALLY if you are counting on him to be one of the main guys and in a defacto leadership position.

Sending him to Harden and the dysfunctional Rockets would have been hilarious---- Whiteside has a great support system in and structure and culture in Miami- and still fucks up and does dumb shit all the time....I couldnt imagine him in a place like Houston where dysfunction is the norm.

"All the time"?

He threw an elbow ONE time, which I'll agree is one time too many , but don't act like he's been any type of problem at all, other then that in near prob a full season of games since his meltdown last year.

And if you don't think Whiteside helps you win, I suggest you start watching Heat games.
He still dominates in the categories we all know about, but he's also improving daily in other areas of his game.
If he has no more setbacks between now and this summer, he's getting a full max IMO.

And, what happened to your team last night?
Weren't they "going on a roll", just the day before?

Nothing's changed. If James doesn't play or has a bad game, they lose.

Yeah, because having Thompson on your team has shown you that you'll win titles.

Reason the Cavs are the favorites out of the East is Lebron, then Kyrie and Love.

That's cause Tristan is the role player that most good teams have.
It's a bit easier to accumulate stats when opponents are much less focused on you which is his situation with the Cavs.

Agreed. To Thompson's credit though, he's an elite rebounder though. Hard to name many rebounders better then him. *cough* Whiteside *cough*

I'm really beginning to think that the Heat has
2 potentially future elite players in Winslow and
Whiteside.

Winslow is a virtual lock.
A 19 year old who is that mature and focused is a rare combination.
He backs down from no one, and he's often defending the opponents best scorer.

Whiteside is the opposite.
Seems very immature, and he's no kid.
The talent is there, no question anymore.
He's no flash in the pan.
He needs to grow up.

Lue seemed a little over eager to get Frye in the rotation, imo. I think that was why TT's minutes were low. That and the fact that Moz actually had one of his better games.

I understand it though. Better to get Fry acclimated to the players and system now. Probably more important in the long run than their W-L record over the next couple weeks.

Shaq had some high praise for Whiteside this morning on Mike & Mike. They were talking about how all the centers these days are shooters and Shaq brought up how much he likes Whiteside's game.

Cavs' Irving says bed bugs to blame for absence

Irving continued: "I got three hours (of sleep). Just imagine how freaked out you'd be if you saw friggin' five, big-ass bed bugs just sitting on your pillow. I woke up itching and I'm just looking around and I'm like, 'Are you serious right now?' It was 3 a.m. and I was so tired at that point. It was, whatever."

I guess all of that money Gilbert is paying TT means the Cavs can only afford to stay in Motel 6's when they travel. :heh:

There seems to be a change in Hassan Whiteside’s mindset over the past month. It started with a rocky transition to a bench role and took more pronounced turn after getting ejected and suspended for elbowing a Spurs player in the face.

Whiteside has been on fire his first two games back, totaling 44 points, 41 rebounds and eight blocked shots, but his teammates are pleased with more than just his production.

“Not only is Hassan putting up big numbers, but honestly I think the San Antonio incident– He’s come back after the break, and you can see the maturity,” Luol Deng said, unprompted. “We’ve been talking to him on the floor, and he’s been positive. It’s part of experience and learning. I think he’s improved in that aspect so much. That’s making us better.

Not true.
It's been pretty equal, and Whiteside is still learning

Yep in the first meeting Hassan went for 15, 13, and 3 while Drummond went for 18,20, and 5. In game #2, Hassan went for 16-16-4 while Drummond went for 11-12-2. So basically both outplayed the other once

I also heard him say that he's much
closer to figuring out how to play with
Dragic.
He said Wade attacks more methodically while Dragic just wants to go full
speed ahead.

Not quite equal, that's why Drummond is an All-Star. He is the best rebounder in the NBA, or close to it.

And Whiteside is 5th.
Where is Drummond in blocks?

Then, remind me who the Pistons
other front court all star is
