I still think Taylor gives us the best shot at winning

It's amazing what most coaches will put up with if it means wins.

I have no reason to think Pelini is any different.

i mostly just think he's a douchenozzle, and Bo wouldn't have played him til he got too humble to be effective

So what if he wins nobody cares

Johnny doing and losing or only getting 6-8 wins then we have a problem

Winning cures all in football

So strange that we didn't recruit Manziel. I know for a fact they saw him play bc him and Armstrong played each other multiple times. I wonder if we would have had a shot at him.

Nope bc it was clear tmart was the only qb that was gonna play

Look at the list of qb that passed over us and see how some aren't even playing qb cough cough devin fuller

Because this thread has gone the toilet really fast with someone saying Taylor is the best ever and that all Nebraska has to do is throw short passes and then we will be 14-0.

So all I will add is, "useless as tits on a boar hog"? Well, I think it depends on how big the tits are.

I didn't say we would win every game by throwing short passes :L

All I was saying is that at this level and with this type of Offense, calling 5 long bomb passes in a row just because your team was leading by 18 at one point and is suddenly down 3 is stupid and can only lead to failure.

Beck has shit the bed time and time again. He even admits it himself that he needs to calm down in that situation.......says that Taylor is more calm than he is. That aint good.

Manziel wouldn't have come to Nebraska if offered, I think his ultimate decision came down to Location and he didn't want to leave state.

"A lot of QBs at the next level"?

Which post of yours won?

There are about 5 teams that I think he would start over who ever their starter is in the NFL. That is not "a lot".

I don't see how ye come to that conclusion. I didn't say Taylor was a world beater.....jest said when used the right way he is as effective as a college QB can be.

When Taylor is used as a system QB he thrives. When Beck forgets that Taylor is simply an athlete and starts trying to attack NFL style down field, that is when he is absolutely turrible.

The folks who are all over Tommy like stank on shit are the ones drinking the koolaid.

1620 were the people to break the news to me.......

I am just relaying it to the rest of you.

Not one single name sits above Taylor. Not one.

And yet I still want Tommy Armstrong to start...

The statistic that I was mentioning is a for real deal.

Who in the hell wouldn't take 7-8 yards a pop through the air? Especially when a guy like Kenny Bell will probably add on another 5 yards after catch.

I just see this Offense working in my head a lot differently than Time Beck does right now. I don't see it being on Oregon's level.......but I think we have playmakers all over the place and we don't let them make plays en sech

I feel like I am the only one who didn't grab ahold of Tommy's nutsack after the SDSU game.

That Defense that he went up against that day pales in comparison to any Defensive unit that he faces in practice during the week......and that is sayin somethin cuz our Defense sucks.

All I'm sayin is, I got absolutely nothing out of that game. Taylor has experience coming from behind in big games and right now he is the more effective passer. He may not be the better passer technique-wise, but there is a reason he was #1 in the country the last 2 seasons when Beck kept the passing game within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.

I liked the playcalling a lot better in that SDSU game......I think a healthy Taylor would have thrived in that setting.

Tommy looks promising mechanically, but I don't understand the nuthugging.

For one thing, I don't believe we'll see Martinez this week regardless. When he had turf toe as a freshman, he never really was fully healed for the rest of the season to and including that "big game" bowl loss to Washington.

I'll be the first to admit that SDSU was far from a quality opponent. And yet with Martinez if (and I admit it's a huge if) if he falls victim to his own shortcomings the rest of the offense knows we're in for a long afternoon (regardless of who we're playing). We may not know yet how TA is going to act under pressure--with a tight tough game, and maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, but I'd like to see how the kid does under fire.
