I never made that connection either but it's probably because that hat he wore covered up those goofy looking ears which would have given it away pretty easily.

Rose Bryne was Moira Mactaggert in the last 2 Xmen movies, and she was hilarious as Kelly Radner in the 2 Neighbors comedies, and she was the stuck up Helen in Bridesmaids. BUT, 10 years (and quite a few pounds) earlier, she was Achilles' shapely young love interest in the movie Troy (she played Briseis).


Jack Black is the pilot of the seaplane in Waterworld and he is also one Dennis Leary's men in Demolition Man.

I have always been pretty damn good at spotting actors in a movie and then remembering what movie I had seen them before. It's almost always the voice that I pick up on. And I rarely know their real names.

Keep in mind we are talking mid level actor types and the movies are sometimes 10, 20 years apart.

All that said, I can't believe the one that has gotten by me all of these years.

I lost a bet when someone told me that Jack Black was in Waterworld. I went back and watched that awful movie and sure enough, there he was--clearly Jack Black.

Holy Cow. I watched the both of those movies endless times and never made the connection.

I still remember my very first experience of this nature. This one isn't as subtle as most of the comments but between the ages of about 6-8 I saw all 3 original Star Wars movies and Raiders of the Lost Ark. I was completely oblivious to the fact that Han Solo and Indiana Jones were the same actor. I think at that young age the entire concept of an actor playing more than one character was something I had never been exposed to before, at least not that I was aware of. It wasn't until I was about 9 or 10 and saw Temple of Doom for the first time that I said to my friend "Indiana Jones kind of looks like Han Solo." and my buddy was like "Yeah that's Harrison Ford! He plays them both!" and my young mine was blown!

Here's one I probably wouldn't have known to this day if not for my friend's wife. The guy that played Wesley in Princess Bride was the doctor in the first and last Saw movies. It had probably been close to 15 years since the last time I had watched The Princess Bride and the first time I saw Saw. The OP mentioned voices as a giveaway well she said she went to see it in theatre and you hear his voice before you see him because the lights are out. She said as soon as she heard his voice she knew it was him and actually started laughing. Not really sure what would be funny about that but whatever.
