I watched the first half of the game last Monday and it looked like the same defense to me. Stats can get skewed this early in the season. They've given up 10 points over the past two weeks without getting a sack or an INT so I don't consider those as the only relevant stats
10 points to a terrible Bears team with no Cutler and a Det team that is also terrible on offense for all it's supposed talent.

The defense is still scary, there's no doubt. But there are signs of slippage and cracks where there were none before. This isn't the same Seattle team of the past 2-3 years.

I don't see it yet. They lost in GB where Rodgers is inhumanly good and in STL where they struggle every season. To me this is an elite team who absolutely needs to win this week. A win would say a lot to me about the Bengals upward trajectory. I see it as the toughest home game on the schedule. Maybe I'm overrating them on past accomplishments. It's possible

I don't disagree that this will be one of the toughest home games this year (Pitt is up there, too with a healthy Ben).

I agree, they are in a more desperate spot than the Bengals, and I agree this is still a top tier defense. There's no questions about it. I just don't think they are quite as good as the past 2-3 years. Could be a result of carrying a much larger load due to the ineptness of the offense this year.

They are still an elite squad until otherwise proven, no argument there, but the task is not insurmountable with the talent on the Bengals' offense. Sunday goes a long way to tell people about both teams.

Why do you insist on cursing this team and rubbing your stink on them by praising them. We all know how this is going to go because of this.

Damn you.

Lynch - out

Gilberry probably not going to be able to go. Seems everyone else on the Bengals is good, injury wise.

Also, Bruce Coslet visited and nice weather:

The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio is calling for sunny skies with virtually no chance of rain and a kick-off temperature of 66 degrees rising to 72 by the end of the game. Barely any wind is also projected at five to 10 miles per hour out of the southwest.

Notes: Green salutes Sherman; Lynch out; Coslet visits; Adam Jones probable; Gilberry questionable
