If someone is willing to give you a quality prospect, I take it. I mean Matty has been outstanding but again we dont need to make the playoffs, only to have an early exit and there is no guarantee he can replicate this performance next season. I also dont move him for a mid-level prospect. There are teams that will find him very valuable I would think.

He is my age after all....

so if he hadn't let Allard pitch what would have been the consistent opinion: would we be saying why didn't Woody use Allard?

Dave and Tom definitely acknowledged it last night. Mentioned that the month of July has not been kind to him, and that coming in he was 0 for his last 9 with 5 K's or some such.

To be quite honest with you I don't want to see Allard pitching right now at the MLB level period. So I for one would not have said that. I am never comfortable with him and he should not have been called up. Now that may not be Woody's fault and if not then I will admit he is caught between a rock and a hard place. He has not pitched well at any level since 2018.

I am never comfortable with him and he should not have been called up. Now that may not be Woody's fault and if not then I will admit he is caught between a rock and a hard place. He has not pitched well at any level since 2018.

Managers don't get a say in who is called up, and honestly a 7 run lead is when you put Allard in, to avoid wasting a competent arm. But Allard shouldn't be back on a MLB mound this season.

i feel the same way but some others are constantly complaining if someone isn't used in a way that satisfies them
