Today was an absolute zoo in Seattle. I heard over 700,000 people were there for it. I work down near the stadiums and it a pandemonium just getting to work (I commute from Everett). I took a nice long lunch though and enjoyed as much of the festivities as I could

City officials estimated ~700k. Paul Allen said at the rally that it was about 1M.

Regardless, in a city of about 653k people, it was amazing to see! So glad to be apart of it and something that I will NEVER EVER forget.

Paul Allen said it was over a million at the Rally at the Clink.
Went to the rally with my buddy, his wife and kids, then he and I walked down to the stadium.

Yup, I was out there at about 7:30ish and it was bone chilling cold. Supposed to have a meeting at 1:30 today but called in to cancel it once the parade information came out. Didn't really matter, it was a day for celebration and my buddies and I did that a good part of the day. Truly a day to remember, it's still so surreal for me.

Yea, it was pretty cold. I was with the whole clan and luckily my sister took the younger kids in to PF Changs so they wouldnt have to deal with the cold. They ended up getting seated right by the window and were warmer and had better seats than the rest of us.

I had to work in the AM, but blew out at 10. Then went home, changed, and grabbed a bus to the event to share some times with some fellow 12's downtown.
Pretty much froze my ass off even though I was fairly protected.
It was a worthwhile trip for me.

I had to work, but I was able to see the parade from where I was. You know, it's been popular this year to say that Seahawks fans are bandwagon jumpers simply because the national media focused more on the team and the fans than they ever have. I'm sorry, but bandwagon fans don't come in those numbers to a parade when the weather is in the 20's, stay out there for hours despite freezing their asses off and cheer the team the entire time. It was 24 degrees when I got to work yesterday morning about two hours before the parade started and even though the thermometer said 30 when I left, the wind made it feel colder than that. I know people that were there for hours before the parade was supposed to start and stayed there for the whole thing. You don't do that kind of thing unless you truly love the team.

The only negative thing I have to say about the parade is that traffic/public transit was a disaster yesterday. Given that they only had a couple of days to pull this together, that was probably unavoidable, but that didn't make it any easier to deal with.

Anyway, to my fellow 12's: Go Hawks and let's hope we can do this again next year.

I was at work until I got a text from my wife "The parade's starting! It's crazy!"

I ducked out for few hours and went home and watched the live stream. Marshawn on the hood of the cheerleader truck chucking skittles to the crowd made my day!

My Friend was on one of the raised platforms with a bunch of photographers that were close to the road. He said Marshawn threw those skittles so hard it felt like he got shot with a paintball gun in that cold weather lol.
