I just pulled my hamstring playing softball. Any thoughts on how long I'll be out of action?

I've never pulled it before, so idk how long I'll be laid up. I'm sure some of you old farts have done it, how long am I looking at before I'm back out there?

Depends. Could be back to action in a couple weeks, could be a month, but if you spring back into action too quickly you could pull it again. A guy on my softball team pulled his 2 weeks ago in a tourney, but was back in 2 weeks. Another guy a couple years ago pulled his and was never the same the rest of the year. But he was as old as Meow, so..ya know....

If your name is Louis Delmas, might take 3-4 months.

3-4 years.....Lets get it right. lol.

Hamstrings are the hardest muscle to come back from......It's the biggest muscle in the body therefore needing the most rest.....But you are a young buck, just stay off it and stretch it......You should be walking around Greektown in August No problem.......If you keep aggravating it, it won't heal.

It really depends on the level of the pull. With good PT even a slight tear can be a few weeks. It's basically a feel it out thing. I'd be sure to do some jogging and stretching for a while before working up to any sprinting. Just ice a lot

This old fart never pulled anything when he was that young.

I've never missed more than a week or so with it. Just take care of it and be a little gentle at first and it won't be too bad.

Yo! JDM! Serious question.....What's the word with Hernandez at TE? Can Timmy Tebow actually play it and is Belechieck a Genius?

I don't know about anyone else, but the Tebow bus just got bigger........I'm on board......Toot Toot....

That might of come off as being a Ass......But I'm dead serious.........I think Tebow will fill that role and you will be fine....

Drugs and Thugs kill locker rooms......You can always predict a teams future season by the offseason......No news is good news.

I would of rather had Tebow over Kellen Moore.

I'd rather have Tpaul with a pulled hamstring than Kellen Moore.

It depends on how bad you pulled it, how old you are, and how well you take care of it over the next few weeks. I pulled mine a few years ago playing softball and it took about 2 months to get back to normal and I was 21 at the time. After about 3 weeks I could jog on it, a month and a half I could run about 85% but it was a good 2 months before I could sprint again.

I am sure one of your boys Smittay or Micro will rub it down with ointment...

About ten minutes a pound at 350 degrees.....:L

Maybe I should read the threads and not just the titles...

@ Swarm- what is a "good morning"? I'm not familiar with that exercise, but I'm open to all options so this doesn't happen again...

I wasn't sure if it was a grade 1 or grade 2 injury (definitely not grade 3), but it feels ok today and there's no bruising, so I think I got lucky and got a bad grade one/mild grade two.

I've been lightly stretching so far, but I don't want to over do it yet, needs a few days to start to heal before I'm supposed to push the stretching, from what I understand. Right now my plan is two sit out the next two weeks and see if I can go again in 3 weeks...
