I was a cop for 10 years.....Regardless if Hernadez is innocent or guilty that is a HUGE locker room distraction. His time will be tied up with lawyers and his lawyers not wanting him to talk to anyone including family.

He won't help you this year, because this case isn't going away for along time, atleast the 2013 season.


So, I'm going on the premise Hernandez won't be around to help the Pats. Gronk might be depending on how the surgeries go.

We still have yet to have a lot of information, and I don't believe in judging someone based on what's in the media. It's far too easy to turn nothing into a story because you want attention, and while it doesn't look great on his innocence, there are several reasonable explanations based on the limited information available through the press. The obstruction part is hard to explain well but not cooperating plus the rest are nowhere near enough for a trial, so we'll see what actual evidence there is.

I was more referring to longer term. While he may have to take a leave of absence or whatever, if Belichick believes he is innocent I don't think he completely cuts the cord. I think he backs his guy until the legal proceedings are done, regardless of how he handles things contract wise. I bet someone in the patriots organization suggested a great lawyer for him. Kraft is connected.


This season wise, it's absolutely an issue. If he did it, it's a bigger issue. But I think he gets help whether it looks like it or not.

Too early to say he's out for the season. Goodell will wait for the outcome of the case before handing down his punishment. Let's wait till he's charged and arrested before calling him done for the season.

If the obstruction of justice is all that sticks I'd call that right about a 4 game suspension from old Roger.

Remember, Rey Lewis was directly involved in a murder, and I don't think he missed a single snap because of that from what I understand.
