How Good Was My Draft - MidSeason Observation

As leagues began drafting in August (or earlier), how many times do we see a "rate my draft" or "grade my team" thread? Too many IMHO.

I looked at the 12-team MBBRL and found that most ALL of the teams are unrecognizable from draft day.

One team still has 9 original players (of 14), or 64% of the team he drafted - and that's the highest percentage.
The lowest is 14% which is essentially 2 original players.
(Incidentally, the team with 14% acquired 5 players by way of trade. So not all free agents factor in.)
Overall, the league is 38% original. Which is roughly between 5 and 6 of drafted players still on their roster.


Just making an observation. (Home sick today.)

I don't play in too many leagues where the teams remain very static - I'm sure a lot of leagues have a ton of roster turnover. Obviously, leagues with transaction fees, keepers, transaction limits, etc will have less turnover.

I think my MBBRL team has either 2 or 3.. Can't recall if I dragged Hauschka.. Think I did. . Regardless. .
Had Jones and Cobb not been injured, I probably don't make the trades.
So weird sometimes, I've had title winning teams that required very little tweaking, and I've had title teams that had 2 original players, if that. Injuries, Draft day blunders, bad player evaluations.. So many things can go wrong.
That MBBRL team? easily the team I was the most disappointed with coming out of a Draft, possibly ever, ..little bit of luck later and I was 6-1..no matter what ya think ya know, ya just never know.

In both of my money leagues I have 11/16 originally drafted players, and 9/9 and 7/9 Week 1 starters. A lot of the futzing goes in at the margins - WR5, RB5, TE2, QB2, K, DST.

The MBBRL has been a pretty trade-crazy league; in a lot of leagues you're more likely to be stuck with what you draft.

A good draft is like April in baseball - a good one won't win you anything, but a bad one can knock you out of the running.

Checked another league where the owners are pretty active (12 teams with 16 roster spots) and the ratio of originally drafted players is 52%.

The original question: How good was the team that I drafted? Well, my money league team that I DRAFTED was pretty damn good until I dropped my 2 sleeper RB's for garbage...........Here's the team I drafted and here is the team I have now.
