Unfortunately guys who produce get paid. Actually think Matt is underpaid for what he does for this team.
Hometown discounts are a myth. They're for guys past their prime, and not really wanted by other teams.
It's been a while since I can recall a player taking 1.

The argument was if the extensions were signed during the season they could have gotten better deals, but since there was no room in the cap to get anyone any signing bonus money, they had to wait til the offseason where they can start manipulating these deals however they want.

Didn't realize there was an argument.
As for the rest of you're post , I don't know where you're going. I don't give a shit about cap space. How we handle it. What players feel about.Or how they handle their own situations.
Just want to get players signed to my BEARS.

Nothing unfortunate about that. Unless you are a socialist, which while more of America may be turning into, doesn't make it right. Pay the producers.

 I guess you really got to watch what you say on these boards.
Being somewhat hammered and posting is probably my favorite past time while surviving cabin fever.
I believe the better players should get paid . How much is the question.

There isnt an argument here, the argument was they could have gotten a better deal and not paid these current players the price you would be paying the price of a different teams free agent. If they had cap space last season, they could have paid part of the signing bonus up front and these would be 2.5 million salary deals not 4.5 million dollar deals. Maybe when they cut peppers and we cannot get players that would earn 8 million dollars you will start to respect the cap more..

The reason your bears cant sign the players you want them to sign is because there is limited cap space.

Still don't see the Bears cutting Peppers at this point. It would just create another big hole they would have to fill with a starting quality DE, which right now, is scarce so you end up over paying yet again. And the draft is bad at DE. Restructure??? maybe if its needed.

Now the Ratliff signing helps a lot. Shore's up the NT position with a nice rotation of Theo and Paea. Now the Bears need to concentrate on the other DE spot and S.

I've always been. A live for today guy.
Probably why I don't give a shit about the cap. Except for how we get under it to sign the guys we need.
And if there's an argument, it's 1 sided. I don't have any amo.
Like most of your posts. Just really didn't know where you were going.
Just think you're looking into the future too far.
Heard the cap is going to continually rise.
And we still have Stein.:suds:
