I gave up on in 30 minutes in
@SLY tried to warn us about how slow it was. At least for those of us that were paying attention to this thread lol. I still enjoyed it. Definitely wasn't what I'm used to, but the acting was awesome. Would have loved more shock & awe but the movie wasn't intended to be that way. It's one of those movies that you're either going to love or hate. Really depends on the mood you're in too.I actually tried to watch The Witch with the wife, but it was way too slow so I had to shut it down.
I was just now able to finish it. It is certainly not your average horror movie. If you like psychlogical horror then it is a must see. If you are not so much into that then you should probably avoid.
On a side note, I studied some Puritian crap back in the day at Uni, and I am fucking soooooo happy I am not living in that time and place!
I honestly don't exactly know if I fully understand what happened... But here's my thoughts:Somebody spoil the ending for me, I wont re-watch it. lol
I can't quite remember, but the person cursed could see "it", correct?
I'm diggin it! Thanks for the rec! This could be a cool movie, but who knows. Trailer is suspenseful
I honestly don't exactly know if I fully understand what happened... But here's my thoughts:
Essentially the entire movie is about good vs. evil. One thing that needs to be said is the "witch" or "witches" are nothing more than a metaphor for evil. People got too wrapped up in their perception of what a witch is, and they completely missed the point of the movie. People expected crazy Hansel & Gretel type shit, and that was pretty far from what they got. As for the plot & climax... I'm sure you gathered the good vs evil from the perfect-puritan faith they were trying so hard to achieve. The teen girl, Thomasin, tries her hardest to be good. She ends up unintentionally "sinning" by lusting for the outside world. She begins to doubt her faith, etc. Her slow transcendence into evil ultimately leads to the death of her entire family and then she joins the "heathens" or "witches" dancing around the fire. Basically drove home the symbolism of good turning to evil.
Hopefully that helps... I'm obviously far from a director or writer so that analysis of the movie is up for debate.
Damn that looks good! Thanks for sharing!Another trailer for you guys. Big Ex Machina vibes.
Watching The Gallows as we speak.
Damn I know I watched that movie shortly after its release, but I can't seem to find a review from me? I did a preview on it before its release. Must have completely spaced reviewing it after I watched it.@FaCe-LeE-uS - if you've done a review already, please post the page number. I'd like to see it. Won't affect my opinion, but I am curious as to your thoughts. My initial view? My kinda horror flick, but I'm not yet sure it is worthy.
So far, I was way more impressed with the Facebook movie. However, I'm only half way through. Not giving up hope yet.
Been away but now I'm back!
Watching The Gallows as we speak.
There will be a review forthcoming.
When are they gonna make a movie about a living vagina that takes over men's lives and terrorizes them?
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
