I have to call shenanigans on this. If it was true I'd be skinnier than Kate Moss because all I watched growing up was scary movies.

Just watched The Exorcist- Believer on Peacock.
Very low expectations.
Not bad. Played it a little loose with logic and the basic tropes, but it surprisingly held my interest.

Just watched The Exorcist Believer.

Not good. The writing, story and dialogue are all bad. The production was ok, but I really feel like they just didn't understand what made the original so good. I also feel that these guys (Green, Teems, and McBride) probably aren't the most religious. It really felt like they completely did not understand religion and that is what probably led them down the writing they did. Not good.

4/10.

Just watched Leave the World Behind

Wasn't big on it. Slow build mystery thriller. Feels more like an intro episode to another. Some ideas felt half-cooked. Maybe I'm just not connecting the dots, but I don't believe in the plotline about the ecological disaster creating abnormal animal migration patterns. Even further, the animals trying to warn them created more questions than answers. Feels like another M. Night original where you're in the same boat as the characters waiting for answers to reveal themselves and when you finally do get some answers they are overly vague & unsatisfactory. The characters were all annoying.

The cinematography boasts some money & skill, but at times it just didn't add to the ambiance or tone they ultimately went with.

Overall the movie starts off well and sports an interesting plot that keeps you interested in the mystery. But the more it drags on the less it makes sense. Ultimately you don't get much of a payoff.

From what I gather from your post,

It's like The Happening... where at the end of the film I was like, "What the hell just happened?"

Now that Mickey is free of Disney, they are making a horror flick with him. Similar to the Pooh slasher movie from a couple years ago…
