Just watched "The Babadook" last night. Really a pretty good movie.

I don't recall if it has been reviewed here before or not but excellent story and direction. The actress that played the mom really was excellent. The kid was as annoying as hell but that was intentional. Very well done movie. The creature was also pretty cool.

It is a bit slow at the start but does a good job of building tension. The story was actually quite deep and well layered.

Highly recommended. Watch it if you get a chance.
I think it was one of my first couple reviews in this thread IIRC. If not in here, I know I posted a review of it somewhere in the forum. Great cinematography work in that movie. Kind of a weird ending though, but I remember thinking it was a metaphor for something. Can't recall right now without watching it again.

RIP Wes Craven.

:rip:
Shocked... So many fond memories of watching his movies. The genre lost one of its greats.

I'm probably going to dedicate a night this week to watching all of his greatest works.

I watched 13 Ghosts this weekend. Awesome ghosts. Enjoyable.

Fun fact; Greg Nicotero was one of the make-up artists for this film. He is the beast behind The Walking Dead for all make-up.

Can you guys tell me good horror movies where the plot revolves around group of people/friends going to an out-of-town trip and there they encounter paranormal happenings. I just love those kinds of movies.

2. Blair Witch Project
3. The Last Exorcism
4. Extraterrestrial
5. Troll Hunter
6. Frankenstein Theory
7. Hollow
8. Out of the Darkness
9. Devils Pass
10. The Barrens
11. Rites of Spring
12. The Reeds
13. Scarecrow (Syfy movie 2013)

Shit this list could go on forever if I keep my mind on it... lol

Watched "We Are Still Here" yesterday. It was actually a pretty good movie.

Acting was solid, storyline was interesting, fxs, both "creatures" and gore, were well done. Starts a bit slow but picks up nicely. A twist on the crazy town, and possesed house genres.

My biggest criticism would be that it is a bit lacking in development of the overall story but even that wasn't too bad.

Worth a look. One of the better horror movies I have seen recently.

Wow ..Troll Hunter ....If there was an award for a movie that starts off as a bore fest and ends as a incredible movie ..it would have them all.

The realism in this movie is off the charts.

It's not Horror but I'll say a quick word about Mad Max that I saw last night.

No spoiler.

It's as if the action packed final 5 minutes of this movie starts 5 minutes in and lasts 115 minutes.

Oh, good to read. I see it available On Demand, and I think I want to push the trigger on that one. I've only heard good things.

Not sure if I missed it elsewhere in the thread, but Jeepers Creepers fans may rejoice. A third installment is in the way.

Checked out "It Follows" the other night and really liked it. It really felt like a late 70's/early 80's horror film. It's in Red Box right now.
