The fact that it's an entirely bullet proof car and they couldn't strike it at all, tires and all, yeah, fuck it, why not at this point? And we're still in the same time frame of Derry being flown off and sewn up into something delicious. Feels shitty they made the truck more supernatural than the creeper. Who has been sporting a red shirt all night. Cat must be a blood, and sees every cop as a crip. He also got more swole. Must have been from eating some cats since Derry and working at the sewing machine. I thought I didn't care for the second movie, the second movie gold next to this.

I just happen to catch Jeppers 3.

This was so bad on so many levels that it literally brings down the entire franchise.
I may even have to avoid watching 1 or 2 ever again because it will remind me of 3.

Film schools should have dedicated classes for this movie so film students can dissect it so they can understand
what makes a film so bad. Just like how engineering students study a collapsed bridge.

So, I think I was right in drunk posting the movie as it happened, I knew it was ridiculous as I was watching it. What else was to be expected of a SyFy adaptation.

On other things, I know I can be hyper critical if that's a thing, but I agree with I want to say @Chef99 that The Ritual was a solid movie. Peter Pettigrews kid did a solid job even though he eventually got red on him.

It's been a while and I won't be watching much in the next few weeks. Did catch Burying the Ex, it was okay, probably could have been done better, i just hate a certain aspect about the way they chose to go about it.

Night World - what more can one say than if you're watching a movie starring Jason London that isn't Dazed and Confused that it's going to be a piece of shit, triple that take for knowing it came out in 2017, I knew what I was getting into.

While I wouldn't qualify it as a horror, Jungle with Harry Potter wasn't too shabby.

That's all I got, which I had a good movie for you to watch, but I guess agreeing with the ritual being a good movie is good enough.

So bad............. I still feel so ashamed that I was hyping it up in here for months on end. :L

I can't even bring myself to review that steaming pile of garbage. I was so disappointed. The first 5 minutes started off perfectly... Rehashed the old look & feel... Then it takes a nosedive off a cliff into Syfy wasteland. I struggled to even finish it.

Alright, sheriff eventually showed up. Thought the creeper was going to take the the truck up with him when it got knocked over and just took the (sister or girlfriend) I hadn't paid that much attention. Getting out of the movie, I still feel shitty for even watching this shit fest, as I was listening to a DLM podcast a few months ago with Justin Long and he mentioned the director (I don't know how it came back up, I think it was why he was in the second but the actress wasn't, but if she's back in the third (haven't seen her yet, at least not to my knowledge). It had to do with one of the director's early films Clownhouse, which I have seen, as it has my boy Sam Rockwell in it. Well, it seems he did some bad things with the young co star of that movie. Sorry to go off on a tangent, and i'll still continue to watch this tis the end and hope to make fun of it at times. But shit, if you want scary, that's the scary part of the story for me.

The fact that it's an entirely bullet proof car and they couldn't strike it at all, tires and all, yeah, fuck it, why not at this point? I'm disapointed that I missed these posts from 4 months ago or so... So damn funny! You had me bursting out in laughter this morning at work.

But I agree with all of your sentiments. JC3 was an awful movie. You take an amazingly good horror character and toss him into the cheesy Syfy world and this is what you get... A roided up creeper in a red muscle T with a truck for a sidekick. Good call guys, this movie is gonna be GOLD! How could it possibly go wrong?

smh.

The Babysitter (2017)

On Netflix! This was a hilarious cheesy slasher comedy. It's chalked full of clichéd narratives but that was done for humor purposes. Lets take the usual high school stereotypes of the jock, the cheerleader, the hottie, and the humorous token black friend, and have them all dabble in the occult. Pretty damn hilarious if you think about it by itself. What happens on screen is exactly what you would expect, but delivered better than you could have imagined. Don't overthink this movie because you will miss out on what it aspires to achieve: entertaining & silly Halloween horror. Simple as that. The filmmakers didn't try at all to be serious but rather providing you with an escapism to the exhaustive clichés we see all too often in this genre. It is very self-aware of all the slasher films that it mimics and proves more than capable of providing comedy to those tropes. The leads in this movie did a phenomenal job with what little they were given to work with. The writers kept things simple, but still provided just enough mystery & thrill to keep you hooked til the end. If the plot doesn't hook you, then the comedy certainly will. If you're looking for dramatic & horrifying then you'll be severely disappointed with this film. But if you're in the mood for a great blend of fun, humor & gore, then you'll love it.

Entertaining horror comedy... 8/10
Would've gotten a 10 if there were titties.

The Ritual (2018)

On Netflix! Wow this movie was a surprise! After watching the trailer I thought, welp I've seen this plot scenario maybe a couple hundred times, where a group of tourists wander into the wilderness to encounter some sort of creature, and I've seen maybe less than 10-20% of those movies end up being somewhat successful. Those movies that came to mind... Blair Witch (2017), Devil In The Dark (2017), Indigenous (2015), The Barrens (2012), It's In the Blood (2012), etc etc. The list goes on & on. All of which, according to my memory, were semi-flawed in their own ways but still pretty good. None of which ever really blew me away though. Now I won't call this movie perfect, but its the closest thing I've seen to it within this sub-genre. I loved this movie. From top to bottom it was solid. A lot of people are knocking the ending, and I can understand their complaints as I shared a few with it. First off, the creature's form. I don't want to give anything away, but from a physical standpoint the movement abilities it had throughout the entire movie seem impossible for it. But don't get me wrong, the form it had was absolutely terrifying. And the way they used it throughout 90% of the movie was exactly how they should have used it. Secondly, I wasn't all too enthused with how the climax came to an abrupt ending. I understand their desire to end it the way they did, as the entire film for that character felt psychologically depressing and at some point something needs to give (like drowning and needing to come up for air). I should have picked up more on the continuous flashbacks to the traumatizing backstory as foreshadowing the climax. It made much more sense as I look back on it. But as I watched I couldn't help but feel like the ending was a cop-out ("That's it? That's all?"). But honestly I won't be remembering this film for these shortcomings. It was still one of the most tense and exhilarating films that I've watched in a long time. And from a production standpoint, it was perfect. The acting, the score, the setting, the filming, etc... Overall this film was psychologically thrilling, spooky and downright terrifying. Exactly what I want a creature feature in the forest to be like. I heard that this film was based on a book. I will have to look into that because the book is probably amazing. Looked up the director and it was none other than David Bruckner, of whom I've recently become more & more familiar with. He directed The Signal, Southbound, and the bat-lady segment titled "Amateur Night" on V/H/S (2012). He's a very creative director and one to keep your eyes on.

Well worth the watch... 9/10
Spot on analogy. :thumb: I thought it was a pretty good movie

Watching Jeepers Creepers 3 as we speak.

I hope the rabbit ends up killing everyone involved with this movie...except for the Creeper.

Good monster who deserves better; kinda like what happened with Frankenstein.

Gonna watch this through to the end, but it's not looking good...

Aw, someone give me some spoilers here...who gets killed, Sad Girl with Horse, or Freckle Face?

I say...Crazy Grandma kills Freckle Face and the horse as a sacrifice to The Creeper.
Am I right?

And don't get me started on the nutty trucker thing; I've seen crazier shit here in Texas!

Movie took a real dump on the entire trilogy.

Was an amazing disappointment as a whole. They could of went with so many angles, but it seemed they took the shittiest path.:L

The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)

On Netflix! What a disappointment this was. If this movie had been made as its own separate sci-fi thriller it would have worked ok. But trying to connect it to the Cloverfield franchise was a terrible reach (or money grab?). I'm not entirely sure the connections inherently added anything to the film itself. Other than basing the entire plot on a concept that tried too hard to explain the original film. Basically the end result was a convoluted, dialogue-heavy, "premise movie" that offered an unnecessary & far-fetched background. Ignoring the title, if you didn't pick-up on the brief subplot on Earth & the 5 second alien cameo at the end, you wouldn't even know this film had ANY connections whatsoever. The plot has some glaring holes. In theory, people are running out of energy and they have built a giant & expensive space station to apparently harvest some kind of energy to save the planet... Apparently it took only 5 years into the future for the human race to forget about solar panels & fluid power (renewable energy) technological advancements. Considering we already use those sources for approximately 25% of the world's power needs... There's no f*cking way! The acting ranged from fair to utterly abysmal. The cast is dull and none of the characters were very interesting. And for a cast of rocket scientists & engineers you would assume there might be some logical minds present, but sadly these characters were nothing more than adolescent & emotional teens trapped in "smart looking" adults. It was truly sad to watch all the stupidity and fake drama take place in this movie. The progression was erratic and bordered on mediocrity up until the final minutes. Overall this movie had some very scattered & far-reaching plot points within its story, and it really doesn't pull any punches other than a couple little attempts at sci-fi horror which are few and far between. If you think you're going to see an intense space thriller full of Cloverfield-like aliens then be prepared for a massive letdown.

Easy to see why this was only released on Netflix... 5/10

Thanks, @FaCe-LeE-uS , Cloverfield Paradox was on my short list. I'll wait.

That said, a shout out to The Babysitter. As was mentioned, boobs would've made this movie a 10, but it stands alone as a solid 8 or maybe even a 9. Pretty damn good movie.
