The AngeLOLs will be in town and hopefully Texas finds the offense. Let the complaining about the lack of consistent offense continue!

It will be an all year complaint. I braced myself for it though. The last few years have prepared me as well.

If we're not seeing improvement from the hitters by June, I say Mags goes.

IMO - May. No later than end of May.

For all practical purposes, he's been working with our guys for 1 1/2 years almost. If we aren't seeing results now, I don't see how another 60 days helps.

If they decided not to get rid of Magadan in the offseason I don't see what would make them fire him in the middle of the season. What they are getting from Magadan this season was to be expected based on what they have gotten from him in the past.

We are on pace to get 69 HRs from our 4 corner positions and DH combined for the season and that is pathetic. Until we revamp our offense with more power our offense is going to struggle. I don't see that happening until Gallo and Mazara not only get here, but get aclimated to big league pitching. Even those two will probably not be enough by themselves though.

Hopefully we won't have a starting pitcher have to leave after just one inning due to injury followed just two days later by a 14 inning affair again. Those two things almost back to back would wreck a bullpen short term no matter how good the starters were.

The less-than one inning is worth noting. But extra inning games are to be expected.

But you may be right, that on the short run, fatigue comes with this circumstance.

I don't see blaming Magadan for the lack of offense. He cannot take the at bats for the players. Unless you think just changing the voice will work, I think it's the people hearing the words and not listening to what is being said over the one saying them.

So start putting asses on pine. Starting with Elvis and Martin.

Bennie....it's way too early to be extrapolating a seasons pace, don't ya think?

Ehhh...
Moreland, Choo, Fielder, Rua, Smolinski, Odor, etc have barely had a year with the guy.

Elvis, Martin, Beltre, Chirinos are the only ones that have a year or longer with him..

That said, I was ready to cut ties with him after last season -- so the sooner the better. IMO

I think we - you and I particularly - wore this subject out in yesterday's game.

And I'm viewing Martin and EA a little differently. EA is in, what, his 8th season, and is playing like a rookie. And a piss poor rookie at that. I'd have a come to Jesus meeting with him and tell him the cold hard baseball facts, and sitting him/platooning him is an option.

With Martin, I'd like to see us try taking some of the "thinking burden" off his shoulders, and see what happens there. Meaning, he'd have to look to 3rd base or in the dugout on each pitch to see what we want to do next. Then react after a few games.

Not disagreeing with you really but Mags has had enough time to try to turn things around. You're absolutely right that there's no doubt he's trying to teach the things and approaches and it's up to the players to execute but at this point something is not getting across to the players and it's a lot easier getting rid of one batting coach than taking action on the players.
