I know Scot likes his players to have size, but Hall is coming off of an achilles tendon that has been torn twice. Seeing Kobe this year makes me wonder what Hall will look like. Hall is the leader and the heart and soul of that defense.

I'd like to see him extent his career 4 or 5 years like Charles Woodson and be that ball hawking FS that he could be, if it comes to that of course. It's weird how "Meangelo" has turned into one of our better locker room guys and leaders.

Of course if his speed and athleticism is still there I'd love to see him on the edge or in the slot, but I hope he doesn't become a cap casualty.

Couldn't agree more. DHall brings an attitude to the D, and I like that. Amerson was considered by some draftniks to be a better FS prospect than CB as well, so maybe that's even a possibility??

It would be a cheap way to fix a major problem.

Honestly, it smells of another bandaid to me. I'm sick of seeing our safety corp being an after thought. Why don't we solve the problem long term with a proven commodity? Either sign a proven FS in FA or draft one fairly high.

so I know John Keim doesn't know everything but in one of his mailbags, someone asked about Amerson converting to FS, and he mentioned that Amerson is probably better off staying at CB. He'd have MORE responsibilities at FS, calling out some plays(that is debatable to me). I do agree that his lack of eye discipline could lead to giving up big plays, and he could get killed by taking bad angles.
On the other hand, I also believe he could thrive in open space with permission to roam and use instincts.
He can't tackle but probably would be an amazing ball hawk.
My only other thought is he learns how to play man.

This may depend on how the Redskins view Amerson. Was his late-season regression last year a thing of the past? If not, D-Hall may be forced into playing CB. If Amerson does play FS, we could have a pretty good secondary with D-Hall, Breeland, Amerson and Phillip Thomas. Unfortunately, there's no depth, and I've got very little confidence in people like Biggers or Porter as a nickel corner.

That, my friend, could be fixed by signing Devon McCourty of the deflategate Pats.

McCourty is a guy who I think would talk to his agent and say PASS...when it comes to the redskins.
He's so used to winning, I really really believe unless the Pats win the superbowl...he would go anywhere else.

Not sure about Amerson. Your FS and ILB are really the QB'S of your defense. I don't trust Amerson in that role. He missed a meeting or practice or something like that. That's not the kind of guy I want reading and reacting.

It is a band aid of sorts and I would love to get a McCourty or Moore, but I keep hearing Scot talk about fixing the lines.

Biggers and Porter will be gone, and if they trot out Amerson and Thomas at safety...................

Amerson is gonna be alright this season, his third, that's because generally second year players struggle a bit more. I'd be more inclined to worry about Breeland coming into his second season than Amerson. In as much as D. Hall is concerned, I've been calling for his move to the slot for two seasons now. FS? I don't think that you'd want an aging twice injured guy as your first line of defense at that spot. He'll either be the third corner and back-up FS, or looking for employment elsewhere.

This makes a lot more sense for DHall.
