IDK, I'm liking Chris Petersen from UDUB more & more everyday.

Leave him alone, Exes. I've been saying for 2 years that's who I'd like to see at Oklahoma. Guy can coach. He can recruit. And he can build on what's already there. He'd be hell on wheels at either UT or OU.

All that game proved yesterday was Texas sucks just a little bit more than Oklahoma does. OU is still a shit sandwich but since we beat Texas we are now a shit sandwich with some bacon on it.

Bacon you say?

I agree. If you want to be totally honest about it. OU and Texas have both undelivered since 98 when the BIG 12 was formed. Sure, there's been some success, but way less then there should have been. It's been one excuse after another. I'm past the point of frustration. OU and Texas have the resources to be at least a top 10 team just about every year. Great programs that just haven't delivered.

Can't really say that about Oklahoma. Since 2000 they've won 10+ games all but 3 seasons, which usually put them in the top 10.

Except for we have all been playing in the big 12. Not that impressive for either. The big 12 really didn't have some other schools that could compete consistently until the last 5 or 6 years in my opinion. We added TCU. Good program, but starting to come down to reality. Baylor has been successful, but it hasn't been the same way a Texas or an OU does it. They went after kids that were great football players, that Texas and OU wouldn't touch. Academics, off the field issues were huge concerns to programs that care about ethics. Baylor did not. They got these kids through school with a weak academic program, and obviously tried to hide the illegal activities. They wanted a successful program to get the money. Obviously, they didn't care how they got there or the kids.

Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Nebraska, even Mizzou were decent programs as well during the 2000s. I'd say overall Oklahoma has held their own. Can't say the same for the Horns, and it doesn't look like that'll be changing.

Plus OU record in 98 and 99 was horrible. So 13 out of 18 years. Not bad, and probably better than Texas, but in my opinion, they undelivered.

Again, hit and miss programs. Inconsistent conference. I'm not saying they didn't have good football teams, but there is no reason Texas and OU shouldn't be in the running for the conference championship most years. They want for nothing.

Totally agree that Texas at this point doesn't look like we are improving anytime soon.

Probably better than Texas? Our 9 conference titles to your 4 pretty much seals that up.

Ou and Texas won Nattys during that time? Both as underdogs.

Can't you say that about every single conference though?

Oklahoma has done well inside the conference but we have faltered (badly!) when we step outside the conference. The talent level in many years has been good enough to win a NC but Stoops and the coaching staff have been a consistent downfall. The only exception was when USC clown stomped us. We shouldn't have even been playing in that game. Not a lot to brag about right now.

I'm not slamming OU and saying Texas is better. Far from it. Texas just flat ass sucks, and has for a long time now. I'm saying OU has undelivered as well. Has Texas been worse, probably, but there is no excuse for either school.

2, but I still think there should have been more. Just an opinion that's worth about what you paid for it.

If we make good on one of those missed opportunities at the title we're probably having a different conversation, but we didn't and I'd tend to agree that Oklahoma has underperformed. That said, they have finished top 10 a total of 10 times since the formation of the big 12.

Everything you say maybe true, I really don't follow OU football that closely, but your comment about OU's play outside the conference is one of my points. When you look at it overall, the Big 12 really hasn't been that strong. Could that be the reason, I don't know, but it's possible. I don't think the Big 12 has been weak, but some of our success has come from playing in a weaker conference. Certainly up to 2010.
