Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy bacon
i think to battle Chick-Fil-A a couple gay dudes should start a restaurant called Fil-A-Dude.
Oh my!

We all have the right to take a stand on what we believe to be true. We all have the right to speak about it if you wish.
This forum would be non-existent if that was not true.
Why do people keep responding to criticism of Timmay with this? OF COURSE he has the right to stand up for what he believes he. Nobody here has said anything to the contrary.
Many of us just enjoy exercising the same right to criticize his dumb ass.
Sigh.
I am not taking your bait anymore. You love to act like the reasonable one when in FACT you are the instigator.
You know what? Any religion that says I can't eat bacon is a religion I want no part of.
As for Chick-Fil-A or however you spell it, they can believe whatever they want to and say whatever they want to, and it will not affect my purchases one bit (or at least it wouldn't if I knew where one was). They are a food joint. They sell food. Unless they are grinding up gay people and putting them IN the food, their stance on homosexuality and gay marriage is irrelevant to me and likely the vast majority of the country. Not sure why Tim Thomas or anyone else at all cares.
I would say that "not agreeing with homosexuality" is mild homophobia. I mean, if you don't agree with it, than you're against it, right? You think there's something wrong with it? That's homophobia, no?
What really pisses me off is how some of the Christian right seems to think they've got dibs on the word "marriage". Fuck that. If the goverment uses the word 'marriage', then it transcends any single religion. Can two buddhists get married? Two atheists? Yes? Then what the fuck does Christianity have to do with it?
Saying that a gay couple shouldn't have the same rights as a straight couple is homophobic. Pretty damn simple.
I would call it a mild form of homophobia... what do someone mean when they say they "don't agree with homosexuality"? That it's morally wrong? That people should choose to be straight?
Put another way, can somebody say "I don't agree with interracial marriages" and claim not to be racist?
But it's a gray zone, sure. Whereas, as you pointed out, restricting legal rights for gays, is a bit more black and white.
For a city to openly push business away is fucking ridiculous.
I did hear they only use gay chickens, maybe that's why the food tastes so good. Slovenly straight chickens need to get their lazy asses to the gym.

Of course you all will sit behind your monitors and laugh because this man is taking a stance. I wasn't aware that not agreeing with homosexuality and favoring traditional values renders one a "homophobe".
Right there with ya, JS. People don't realize that you can be for traditional marriage and not hate gay people. I have some pretty close friends who also just happen to be gay. We manage to get along just fine without resorting to calling each other homophobes or anti-Christian bigots. I wish more people could be like that.
I think there is a difference between not agreeing with something and giving 2 million dollars a year to groups that oppose that something. In my opinion its not just being opposed to it, its actively being against it. That is their right to do, just like its people's right to speak against it.
