I specifically tried to frame this as two irresponsible people with different irresponsible choices. We're facing health crises everyday that go beyond covid, started before covid, and unfortunately will continue after covid. If two people make poor choices that contribute to an overall crisis, isn't it difficult to decide who's was worse... Seems like congratulating a drug addict for skipping a day of drugs. In this situation, the chronically unhealthy person made a choice for the vaccine which, relative to all of his choices, is easy to do.

To me @sharkymcwrath had the best response (kick'em both to the curb)... I'm not trying to sway anyone, just trying to point out the concept has wrinkles.
Irresponsible...hmm. I didn't read it like that.
I read it as one who cared very little for his health and would only use the vaccine as a band aid of sorts to continue living his unhealthy lifestyle, while the other was a My body is a temple and I must treat it with the utmost care and respect and not put anything foreign into it.
But whatever.

Let's shift to a new question. FYI not sure I will do this every day but for Poops and Giggles I will run with if for a while.

Do you feel Senators and Congressmen should be restricted to the same term limits as the President? And do you feel the pension for life perk should be removed from those positions?
Restricted, yes. Same as a President? No, but I am not sure what the best term is.

Lifetime perks should be removed.

No Term limits with pension being a contribution to a 401 k attached to each paycheck... The term limit for a president is more about the difficulty replacing a president who dies in office. Sure one can die in a single term, but the likelihood is much greater with the longer tenure. The responsibilities as part of a legislature aren't the same...

I've been a supporter of term limits since 1980.

President, House and senate shoud ll be 4 year terms. No one should be able to serve more than three terms. No pensions, not even for the POTUS. You serve for the public good and not to become a billionaire.

I like the 401 idea with limitations. Most business oriented 401s I have seen have the employee paying a percentage and that percentage being matched. Not sure what percentage would apply here. But I like the idea. I also prefer term limits if not eight then 12 up to 16 years, some get in there and never leave and IMO just play the role of asshole / spoiler.

They told me I'd be far less likely of dying or of any serious condition. They didn't tell me there was zero chance at all.

I have a different recollection. If memory serves me correctly we were all told to get vaccinated so we wouldn't catch Covid. If wasn't until after vaccinated people started getting Covid that it was changed to we should get vaccinated so we are less likely to die.

A big fat HELL YES to both.

But I do have one concern with that. If we have term limits on Congress they will need to compress their opportunities for evil greed into 8 years instead of spreading across an entire career which could end up having catastrophic results because they'll need to get right to it once elected.

I do not believe anybody in Congress is there on behalf of the American people.

I propose the American people should be allowed to charge members of Congress with treason if it's discovered they acted on any behalf other than that of the American people and should be hanged publicly if found guilty. A man can dream anyway.

No, at point you'd be grading someone based on their opinion and though all people aren't equally smart, they are equal.

Should we deny smokers healthcare too? More people died in each of the past two years from smoking related causes than Covid.
we already do If u smoke or are overweight u cant get a kidney transplant:suds:

The vaccines were designed to prevent people from catching Covid-19. By thetime it was approved, the Delta variant was already starting in Britain and Italy. The vaccine was found to be about 70% effective and reduced the implications. Thentheydecided that a booster wouldbe an extra guard and Omicron became the variant of the delta. This virus will continue to morph into variants ntil it exhausts it's core and can't keep finding suitable hosts.

We've never been able to eradicate polio, yellow fever, plague or any other disease 100%. Over the past fifty years every known bug hasshown itself somewhere n the planet. Usually in thetropics where the moist heat allows it to be spread until it finds a suitable host. That host is most often a childwho can fight it off but passes it to others or an elderly person with a weakened immune system where it will thrive and strengthen and then jump to a younger host.

Vaccinatingthe elderly and weaken was the mst intelligent thing that was done with Covid. Afflicyions started dropping immediately. Why? Becausethe elderly need socialization to survive and nce vaccinated, they stopped spreading it amongst themselves and their families. Kids are the worst spreders because of their untraine habits and continuous touching of each other. Why do you think the flu spreads so fast? Kidgets a sniffle, mom and dad work and can't stay home so the kid goes to school and then stays in the after school program and in 8 hours passes the bug to 30kids in his class and 150 kids in the after school program. Within 7 days there are 100,000 cases of flu.

Okay I never once heard one doctor or scientist state the vacinne would prevent people from getting COVID, not one. I heard the media spin it like it should have after the fact but never once heard any medical professional state you could not catch COVID if vaccinated. Even if that was stated or misunderstood this shit keeps mutating and science keeps learning. Under educated humans keep assuming that is where the real issue is/

It really needs to be judged on two scales.

Scale 1
Is it as good as originally expected - No

Scale 2
Is it significantly saving lives - yes
Is it significantly reducing hospitalizations - yes
Is it reducing the numbers catching it all - yes
Is the seriousness of symptoms for those catching it significantly reduced - yes

Now that we see both scales, which is more important: A - they told me it was perfect; or B - It's having an extremely positive overall impact?

Originally expected does not account for mutations and because it was brand new not sure what expectations people had. This is a learning curve and we are still learning

Question Of The Day: If God created the heavens and the earth and on that earth created the Garden of Eden in which he place Adam and Eve. Eve then tempted Adam and the two had three children, three male children. This being the case how did the world populate? What was Eve into?

Santa brought them like he brought Jesus to Mary.

You also have to take into account people who can't actually get vaccinated because they could get even sicker due to vaccine. But as it already has been said, "the sicker" the person is the better chance they should get the bed

Smokers should be denied air!

I had an argument with my 88yo mother in law last night.
She was defending her dead husband as a smoker.
He liked to smoke in restaurants, etc. He cheated on his wife. He was a lousy father.
But he was a good man????? Fuck him and the cigarettes that killed him!

While Cain and Abel were among Adam and Eve’s first children, they were not their only children. Adam and Eve had many other children, and their children had children, etc. In Genesis 5:4, a statement sums up the life of Adam and Eve—“And the days of Adam after he had fathered Seth were eight hundred years. And he fathered sons and daughters.” Adam lived 930 years.

He lived that long, sired all those children and didn't need Viagra? I was not aware there were other kids but the bottom line is sisters and brothers at some point were fucking, but I cant fuck my second cousin?
