Whiteside also picked up a foul on the very first posession of the game, so of course he had to pretty much not be aggressive.

Facts and Wiggy just usually don't blend to well.

Facts? Read my post and you will get plenty of facts- instead of just an off the cuff subjective opinionated remarks like you make

good for Whiteside taking his lumps tonight. He is going to learn a valuable lesson- that when you are the stud- and have the title of "one of the most dominant centers in the game" you are expected to produce no matter what

ITS A WHOLE DIFFERENT ball game when youare Marc Gasol or Demarcus Cousins- and youve been scouted up and down and the other team puts in a game plan to stop you.

Whiteside is getting a taste of that tonight- lets see what he is made out of.

Idk why Wiggy gets so much shit from you guys… at least he isn't a troll that won't explain himself. He does bring up some valid points in his replies, though I do admit sometimes I feel like he aims to piss off Heat fans in unnecessary situations.

thanks man...im a natural target being a Cavs fan....i mean, turnuptheheat is the same guy who a few months ago was saying LeBron would never in a million years play for Gilbert again and that Gilbert was embarassing himself for even trying to get LeBron back- so he comes from a certain mindset...

its cool....I let my posts speak for themselves- people can trash them all they want- but they are hard to ignore when they cite REAL FACTS and statistics.

I know its super early- but how has Knight looked so far? Are you in favor of giving him 12 or so million a year? which is probably what it will take (if not more) to retain the guy?

man,the Cavs got blitzed early by the Hawks....

That is a very tough call indeed. Len has shown flashes of becoming a top 5 center in the NBA in the next couple years and I absolutely love his game. His defense is so damn good, not only does he block shots, but he disrupts them more than any Suns center has in the last 10+ years and he's only 21.

I think if it's about upside you go with Len due to his age/contract situation. If you're going for someone playing better NOW that could help you win in the next 2-3 years I think Whiteside because he's more polished. Can't go wrong either way. Once Len's offense develops he will be very scary with how he can already run the floor.

Len has such great length its scary. I think the most impressive thing about him though is his strength and physique. You do not see many centers- and you just about NEVER see guys who are 7 foot and 21 years old- that are as well filled out as Len that still retain such great athleticism. To me, that is the part that should really get the Suns fans excited about this kids future.

The offense should come. He is a hard working kid, that has never gotten into trouble. He has a good attitude. I never worry about guys like that when it comes to putting in the work.

If you remember, the Cavs had the #1 pick the year the Suns took Len- and I liked Len a ton - having watched a lot of him at Maryland- he beat the shit out of Sullinger of OSU...and Sullinger was a beast. The foot thing was what gave me pause- but it seems like taht is all straightened out now.

I'd rather the Lakers go after Whiteside than Monroe.
you will have to wait a year as he is signed at the minimum next year- great move by Riley

Monroe has an offensive game....and watch whiteside DJ- the shot blocking and rebounding isthere in extreme abundance- but he really isnt a very good defender when they throw the ball into the center in the post, or off the pick and roll covering his guy. He is a great roamer and gets a ton of blocks- but for straightup D, he has not yet mastered the technique and craft required tobe a good one on one defender.....

Plus- I mean-when guys are close talent wise id look at the histories- Monroe has been a model citizen- Whiteside- despite being a 7 foot big time athlete- has not been in the league......Im not saying itsa HUGE concern....but giving him a long term deal worth tens of millions of dollars would worry me more than say giving it to Monroe.....it may not be a concern at all really...its just something to think about

I said for years that James would never, ever , play for Gilbert.
And I stand by it, except I also never, ever, thought a billionaire like Gilbert would pussy out and give a player total control of his team.
If you, for even a second, think that didn't happen, then I have some nice ocean front property to sell you in the Everglades.

Players don't leave the Heat ( unless you give total control of a franchise), all things being equal.
Dragic is already in love with the city, fans and FO.
Whiteside isn't going anywhere.

if the alternative is what you say "pussying out"- is being a title contender and reaping his financial benefits- and possibly delivering the first championship in Cleveland since '64 and be famous as the owner that built the streak........vs....having your pride and having a losing record as a team barely making the playoffs in the East and going from the most relevant team intheNBA- the team every other team gets up to play, the team every other fan base packs the arena to see.....to...having a ton of empty seats highly visible on a national TV game vs. the LA Lakers...so many lower bowl seats unfilled that it should have embarrassed the team.

I am personally glad Gilbert chose- making a ton of money and having a team that could win the title....its not easy for a self-made billionaire like Gilbert to swallow his pride- but he did the right thing, brought back the prodigal son- and the rest is history.

You may not have to worry about Monroe. SVG has been praising his game since day one, traded Josh Smith so Monroe can start, and Monroe recently said he would consider resigning with Detroit. Plus Detroit has his bird rights.

the Heat have the problem thatthey will not have Whitesides Bird Rights. They have to let him enter unrestricted free agency and contend with all the other teams- and if they sign Dragic to a max- they will have 45 million combined with JUST BOSH AND DRAGIC......depending on Whiteside does from now until the end of next season will be interesting-

If Wade is still around- say he takes a Duncan like 10M a year....thats 55 Million between just the 3 guys.....

What would Whiteside get in your estimation as an unrestricted free agent at the age of 27? Its so hard to ball park as we have so little to go on....but id say a low end 10M- the going price for a solid big- and the high end 16M - if he continues to improve and goes from good to great- Lets split the difference and guess 13M....

Bosh- 25
Wade- 10
Dragic- 20
Whiteside-13

68 Million between those 4? and thats assuming Wade takes a healthy pay cut.....is that a tenable position? The cap is supposed to be about 68 million next year- the after that it is anyones guess what it goes to. It could go as high as 85- but i expect some kind of "smoothing mechanism" as has been discussed- rather than such a huge jumpin one season which would greatly benefit just the guys who are free agents that year.

It will be interesting to follow Whitesides progression- and whether teams will trust giving him big money and a long deal too.....Right now he ahs to sing for his supper. With his history- i hate to say it- but it might be risky giving him 4 years 60M and the kind of power a guaranteed deal gives him.

He has to love playing along side Drummond too. A guy like Monroe benefits so much from having a bruiser who can block shots, rebound and play defense. (its one of the reasons why Whiteside is such a huge get- he is a great match around Bosh- especially if he learns how to play defense)

SVG is a good coach- and getting rid of Smith has totally turned things around there- and now they have Reggie Jackson who is another good player....Monroe, Drummond, Jennings, Jackson, KCP is not a bad little core...

One could certainly look at it that way, but :

1. Gilbert's a billionaire , he doesn't need the financial benefits IMO, if it means handing over the keys of the kingdom to a player.

2. By doing so, he basically admitted that he and his people are so inept and dysfunctional that they can't possibly build any type of a contending team regardless of how many times the lotto balls bounce your way.

No matter what, neither side can ever get away from that ridiculous letter Gilbert wrote, and the FACT that James despised him so much they never once spoke for all those years.

"Who am I to hold a grudge"? GMAFB.

dude, that does not even make sense- how do you get from- bringing back the best player in the entire NBA- to they dont know how to build a team?

there is no guarantee if they drafted the next Kevin Durant to Kyrie's Westbrook that they would ever win anything. Charles Barkley was a great player and never won anything- Malone and Stockton

if you have the chance to bring back a guy that grew up down the street that is the best player in the league- and has made 5 of the last 7 finals you do it! LOL, with not even a second thought

Ever see Pulp Fiction? the Heat lost LeBron- and maybe some of it was because they didnt want to give him the power Dan was willing to- LeBron comes with that baggage- but he is a respectable guy, never gets in trouble- and has done a ton for the Akron and Cleveland communities- even when he was with Miami

Marcellus Wallace should have had the "Thats Pride fucking with you" discussion with Riley- because right now it looks like he will be riding into the sunset on a horse named Irrelevant.

LeBron with another NINE turnovers tonight. He has got to clean that shit up. the Hawks played a great game. I give them a lot of credit. the whole Atlanta team only had 12 turnovers- just 3 more than LeBron by himself....

on to Phoenix tomorrow- and then Dallas and San Antonio! what a BRUTAL run of the schedule- but teh Cavs have a pretty easy April with a lot of off days to rest up.

and to be honest- If I am the Cavs- I think id rather play the Bucks in the first round than the Heat- not that i think either would push the Cavs past 5, MAYBE(but probably not 6) games- all though- personally I think that would be a fun series- but theres no doubt the Bucks would just be happy to be there and have a ton of young guys....

I dunno....the Cavs were never going to get the #1 seed once they started their run in January- as long as they are #2 or #3- and avoid the Hawks till the ECF, that is good by me....IDEALLY- the Cavs are #2 or #3, the Raptors are #2 or #3, and the Bulls are #4 or #5- and the Bulsl and Hawks play in the EC Semis.....

or, like LeBron said when he was asked about seeding- i dont care as long as we are a top 8 team. LOL

I agree, after they traded for Jackson I posted that if they were to resign Monroe and Jackson then they would be a playoff team in the East for years to come with the right roleplayers around them. If they still have Jennings under contract I'd take what I could get for him and go with Jackson.

Like I stated, your entitled to your opinion, but I guess I'll have to slow it down for you.

I said Gilbert admitted that neither he nor his people had any clue how to build a winning team WITHOUT James.

2. Never saw Pulp Fiction, so I don't get the reference, but I always stand by and live with the results of my decisions.
There is no way on Gods green earth that if I was in Gilbert's shoes would have ever sold my soul to the Devil.

As far as the Heat. LOL. Combine the James blindside with all the injuries and health issues and you become what you become.
In the process though, Riley found a pure PG who is already in love with the city, front office and fans.
In the process he found the first true center that we've had in a decade.

Then, in spite of it all, we will more then likely still make a playoff appearance vs going from the best in the East to the WORST over a cumulative 4 seasons.

And guess what, when you fail to win 16 playoffs games, you're season will be remembered as another epic fail, while we will be saying we had the start of a solid rebuild.

Wade has no contract.
You think if Whiteside keeps on going that Riley would let him leave by worrying about a 34-35 year old Wade?
You don't think Riley would consider moving Bosh if he has a new vision headed by Dragic/Whiteside?

One thing Heat fans have learned is that we can trust Riley and the FO.
If people like you want to believe stories like they made a mistake by sending Miller packing, then knock yourself out.
