ULL nearly beats UF. The two Big 12 teams come into the conference and toy with their opponents.

Contrast this with the Big Ten where newcomers Penn State and Nebraska have little success.

Is this the beginning of the end of the SEC "dominance"? No team in the NCG for how long? Five years? Ten?

Is PSU still considered a new comer to the B1G?

no, but I'm using their entry into B1G as an example...they had no impact when they entered the conference a decade ago...and everyone thought they would.

Wisconsin can beat Nebraska and Michigan.

Not saying we WILL beat them, just that we can. (I do think we have a good shot against the Huskers, though, since we only lost by three on the road).

I don't know if the SEC has been "exposed", it's just that there are some really good teams this year outside of the SEC, so the SEC can't lose a game and still make it to the title game because you got teams like ND, KSU, and Oregon who are going undefeated outside of this conference.

If you'll notice, only twice in this SEC title run did a team win the title game undefeated(BAMA/AU). So as long as two of the remaining undefeateds can stay that way, then they should block the SEC. It's in their hands, and really it's always in the teams outside of the SEC's hands.

Last season for instance, Bama lost, and it was up to Okie st. to get in there a represent everyone else, but they failed. Had nothing to do with the SEC. Same thing going on right now, Bama should be out, but if Oregon slips up to either Stanford, Oregon st., or USC, and Notre Dame slips up to USC, and Bama takes care of UGA, then Bama is right back in. Wouldn't be anything to do with the SEC, it's just those teams won't have taken care of business.

Having said all that, I think the original post is kinda dumb. Because Missouri isn't toying with anyone, they are horrible, and Texas A&M didn't have Johnny Football leading the show in the Big 12.

Lets compare these "newcomers"....and first of all Penn st. isn't even a newcomer, but even so, they are 4-2 in conference, so if you consider that "little success", then that's two dumb things you've said in this thread.

Now on to Nebraska...again "little success"..are you kidding me OP? Nebraska is 5-1 in the Big Ten...that's the third dumb thing.

Texas A&M is looking very good with Johnny Manziel running the show, can't really compare it to their time in the Big 12 because of a different, and much better QB, and a new and better head coach.

And the fourth dumb thing you've said, about these Big 12 teams "toying" with opponents...Missouri is 2-5 in conference, those two wins coming against Kentucky and Tennessee.

That is seriously one of the worst post I've ever witnessed. I think the only thing that has been "exposed" is the OP's football education.

You can't compare a random conference entry from 10 years ago to one today, it makes no sense.

The only thing exposed may be the extreme SEC homerism by some including the media. Last season half the SEC was .500 or less, it will happen again this year (most likely). The SEC has consistantly had the best team in the country for the last few years but top to bottom it is not as strong as Team SEC want to believe.

Use some logic please! During conference play, half the teams WILL be .500 or +/- slightly..

A decade ago? PSU joined the conference in 1990 and started athletics in 1993. If I'm not mistaken they won the FB championship in 1994. Again in 2005 and 2008, though these were vacated.

We seem to have a failure in the what the term "Decade" means or the exaggerations are just cheap disney trolling.

Huskers, I understand your quote...Huskers are 5-6 loss team since they've been mired in mediocrity for the past couple of decades, but what is the significance of your icon? Yes, I understand the blonde boy is gay (male symbol, rainbow, open closet door), but please provide me context.

Let's clarify a couple of things that according to all resources I've checked,

A "Decade" = a 10 year period.
A "Couple" = More than one.
"Mediocrity" = Moderate ability. Moderate = Average or Below Average.

Going Back

1st Decade 2012 - 2002

2012 (8-2 'so far'), 2011 (9-4), 2010 (10-4), 2009 (10-4), 2008 (9-4), 2007 (5-7), 2006 (9-5), 2005 (8-4), 2004 (5-6), 2003 (10-3), 2002 (7-7).

At least 10 wins (3)
At least 9 wins (6)
At least 8 wins (7)
At least 7 wins (8)
Less than 7 wins (2)

Huskers are probably a 10 win team in 2012.
I count 3 Mediocre teams by definition 2007 (5-7), 2004 (5-6), 2002 (7-7)
Huskers are one of few teams to have won at least 9 games/season over the last 5 years.

2nd Decade 2001 - 1991

2001 (11-2), 2000 (10-2), 1999 (12-1), 1998 (9-4), 1997 (13-0), 1996 (11-2), 1995 (12-0), 1994 (13-0), 1993 (11-1), 1992 (9-3), 1991 (9-2-1)

National Titles in 1994, 1995, 1997

At least 13 wins (2)
At least 12 wins (4)
At least 11 wins (7)
At least 10 wins (8)
At least 9 wins (10)

Less than 9 win seasons (0)
Total "5-6 Loss teams" (0)

"Mired in Mediocrity for the Past Couple of Decades"?

OMG, are you sure you want to leave your house today? Can you even say that shit in public down south?

Logic is wasted on the SEC folks.

Those bad half teams also played the usual cupcakes too. 4 easy wins. Just because Bama and LSU beat them all doesn't mean they a quality wins.

Don't worry, the SEC Aggies will still be able to claim enormous parity. Nobody has caught on yet that the SEC is really only ranked so high because of the preseason, horrific OOCs, and a reliance on ESPN to get undeserved NC shots.
The offense of SEC teams is scraping the bottom of the barrel. Twice now the SEC has gotten ridiculous breaks to make the show. Now it's our turn, deal with hit. Any team with a spitfire offense is going to make swiss cheese out of your pathetic dinosaurs, and the Marty Schottenheimer offense is so last decade...(Hint, Marty didn't win a damn thing)
