The Spurs lost as an 8 seed, but it wasn't a sweep, they lost in 6 to Memphis. (Dallas and Sonics also lost as 1 seeds, but not swept).

The #4 seed Heat got swept by the #5 seed Chicago back in 07. That might be the highest seed to be swept first round.

Ok I found a higher one, and its the Heat again.

The Riley-coached Heat were a 3 seed in 2001 and got swept by the Hornets. That was back when the 1st round was only 5 games, so a sweep only took 3 games.

IMO, a 4-game sweep is much more difficult than a 3-game sweep.

Thank you Gordon for the accurate info and completely agree with the 4 vs 3 game sweep. That extra game and each team with at least 2 home games. Heat getting swept as a 3 seed means that they had 2 home games though...dem feelz.
