Yep - he screwed the Nats royally. Not only are they stuck with this loser for another year at $11M, but now his trade value is the equivalent of a fungo and some BP balls.

Not only has the team acquired Papelbon, though, they also announced that they have signed him through the 2016 season. Papelbon and the Nationals have reportedly agreed to restructure the pre-existing club/vesting option on his contract, reducing the value from $13MM to $11MM in exchange for having the option immediately exercised. The Phillies also announced the move, adding that they sent cash considerations to Washington along with Papelbon.

I don't particularly like Harper, but he's having one of the best offensive seasons of all time and he's 22 years old. personally, I'd like to see what he's capable of.

I was thinking that same thing. Harper's their franchise player and here some dickbag, has-been, rental closer starts a physical dust up in the dugout during a game? If I were GM, he'd be fired and he'd fall down the steps on the way out of the park.
