Williams claims he was on the other end of the dugout and didn't know how serious the altercation was. He didn't see the video until after talking to reporters. He stated that he wouldn't have sent Papelbum out there had he known what really happened.

Williams will be packing his bags soon.

Are baseball dugouts that big? How disconnected from the rest of the team are you that you don't realize there was a fight in the dugout.

I tell you what though, had Papelbon gone out there and shut them down in the 9th, Williams probably would have taken credit for it. "I knew he was fired up" or some BS like that.

When he got traded, he made them turn that option into another year on his contract, he did knock a couple mill off what he could have gotten if they option vested though.
