He was an early enrolled -- so signing day meant nothing to his recruitment. He was on campus and ready to enroll when he was told. He had already signed with Ohio State.
He came to campus, the first time the doctors looked at him they said no and he was told immediately. He was then offered a 4 year scholly but he would not be allowed to play per the doctors. What a horrible guy Meyer is...

Ohio State was ranked 25th in most arrests on a team (Michigan had 1 more arrest than OSU) --

If that's the case you really shouldn't be saying anything.

Try and pack a college basketball game with 100,000 fans multiple weeks in a row and see what happens.

You do realize that not every CFB stadium in the country seats 100,000 don't you? Also how many bowl games are played each year in stadiums that do seat 100,000?

Multiple college programs are able to pull that in weekly. Most are able to double the average attendance of a basketball game. Point still stands.

Yes, because the kid would have been able to play within a few months and the only reason he wasn't offered a spot on the football team is because Urban had too big of a class.

The doctors say different. They say they were not willing to take the risk on the weak knee.

When it comes to the university's liability they listen to their own doctors and nobody else. Seems like they did exactly what they should have done.

Have you not figured it out yet? ALL THE TOP TEAMS DO THIS. If it isn't medical hardships, it is greyshirts, if it isn't greyshirts, they will flat out pull the scholarship.

NCAA football is big business now. Coaches will push the boundries and find every loophole imaginable to get a leg up. They getting paid millions and millions to win games.

When all else fails, blame money.

If anyone should understand the shady side of NCAA recruiting and the loopholes coaches use to oversign classes. It is an Alabama fan. They are the biggest culprit and they have websites dedicated to the extent 'Bama has gone.

It is how college football works now. If you want to try and keep up with the top programs, you start playing by the same rules

You mean the Big10 hired a PR firm to smear the SEC.

Yeah I remember. That's why I'm laughing at your ass now as you try to defend the same practices you all cried about for years.

But none of your reply has to do with money or you wanting to try and bring out the money excuse.

Keep up with the thread. I'm the guy calling everyone dirty. Though I will say this, urban meyer proved he is at the top of the list at the lengths he will go. Read articles from his former players at Florida after he jumped ship

You mean, like the way the Saban and the rest of the SEC cried about the satellite coaching clinics Harbaugh ran this summer. Because it isn't legal for them to do the same?

The SEC, for years, have been doing what some B1G coaches are doing now and it has been called good coaching. Alabama wants to put up a statue of the biggest offender, because in the end, all that matters is winning

The SEC has already said they will allow coaches to do it if the NCAA doesn't make a rule. At which point we'll steal your players even easier.

I didn't see any websites popping up trying to smear the Big10 over it, which are then going to suddenly stop updating when the SEC does it. Nor do I see a bunch of SEC fans trying to claim moral superiority for not doing it.

If you are going to criticize Urban Meyer and Ohio State over the Jamel Dean situation, you should at least get the facts straight.

Dean injured his knee in his junior year. Despite that, Ohio State took his commitment as the 2nd player in the class.

Dean then signed a mid-year agreement just prior to his senior year. This guaranteed that Dean had a scholarship at Ohio State (which is not a two-way street, interestingly enough) and allowed him to enroll early.

In the last game of his senior year, he tore his meniscus. Ohio State tried to get him to wait to enroll until it the results of his surgery were known. Numerous OSU insider recruiting guys stated he would not be part of the class. He insisted on enrolling anyway.

As soon as he got to campus, he had a physical. The OSU doctors advised that he should no longer play football. Meyer and Dean were told at that time he would not be cleared to play. That was 5 weeks before signing day.

Will his knee hold up at Auburn? I hope so for his sake, but blaming Urban Meyer for this is haterism at its finest.

Of course they will allow it. Football is a cash cow for these conferences. That is why they turn a blind eye when coaches and players bend rules. It is why Saban and the rest of the SEC started crying because it was loophole they couldn't exploit, while someone else could.

I don't like that he did it so late. I understand keeping cHoke's recruits year one when he had a smaller window, but this should have happened months ago. However, since the kid was a member of the Brady bunch I understand why Harbaugh would want to rescind the scholarship

Speaking of which prized Brady bunch recruit Kyle Kalis may be exploring his options to transfer for his 5th year. I'm so glad Harbaugh has a 5th years are not guaranteed rule. I was frustrated watching D-linemen rush pass Kalis while he looked around for someone to block, good luck to him elsewhere.

You are claiming that Saban and the rest of the SEC cried about football camps because football is a cash cow?

Are you fucking ElTexan on an alt?
