I wouldn't write too much into it.

Last year in the offseason, Walter Thurmond was telling everyone that the NY Giants secondary that he was on was way better than the Seattle D that he played on the 3 years previously. We see how that turned out.

Detroit had an excellent D last year, but I don't think that they have improved with the losses on the lines and I don't think that they will be better than some of the Raven's Ds that Ngati played on previously.

Players tend to say this kind of stuff. Afterall, they can't say how much their new situation sucks.

Good luck to Detroit this year! I would love to see them do well in the North.

He is right. He's played on a defense that won 10 playoff games and a Super Bowl.

He has never been part of a defense like Detroit's.

Last years defense was stout at times. No way is it considered in the all time top 10 conversation like some of the Ravens defenses did. Unless you are a homer to the core.

In all seriousness, I lean pretty far in the homer catergory. I think Ebron ends up being a pro bowl level player, that Orvlosky is a competent back up who made one very stupid mistake, Stafford this year or next year will take his game to the next level, Suh is the greatest DT to ever live when it is all said and done, and Backus was a solid but never great LT for most of his career.

I do not believe that Bell gets 1200 yards, That the Lions stay in(but do stay near) top 10 with Suh gone,or that the Lions can win 11 games again this year.
