I was at Bethpage for the Open in '02 and walked beside Elin Woods for a number of holes.

She ignored the fuck out of me.
Maybe it was your personal hygiene.

@Guns N Guitars my wife is born and raised down the road in monterey. I always skip pebble cause I am cheap. But play all the other courses around the area and they still are very good and great views!

Got a 4:39 tee time, gives us almost an hour and a half to get in nine holes. Hopefully the groups in front are playing at a decent pace.

It's early, but I'm stuck in the mid 80s...I know some is short game, with freakin dormant grass I've thinned a couple here lately.

But my bigger problem is GIR...not a enough from inside 150...hitting them long left and a few heavy...much better at the range this past weekend, but that ain't the course...I think I'm going to start playing 9 at the par 3 near the house during the week now that we're getting a little more daylight.

It's called winter golf for a reason @ATL96Steeler the currently is all practice for the summer. You know the drill knock rust off now and reap the benefits in later in the year. I love playing friends that don't play winter golf and think they can just show up with the grass wakes up.... easy money, easy money!! hhaahahaha.
I went fishing last weekend out on the lake so this weekend I'm getting some golf in. (Having two hobbies that both take a lot of time is a fine juggling act.)

Yeah I guess, but my new group still has a money game during the winter and they don't seem to take much time off! lol

Sometime I play with this bigger group...20-30 guys sometimes and yes, you can tell the ones that have been hibernating.

I've recently started re-investing in my other hobby...hifi music.

The good, it doesn't really impose on my golf time because I'm typically listening at night. The bad, it's more expensive than golf...particularly building a new system, then it levels out and you just enjoy your music.

yes, I do reside in the land of cheese

we had temps in the 60s-70s for a 6 day stretch a few weeks ago, it was almost like going on a short vacation

got two rounds in during that time period but a few courses opened up when the temps were only in the low to mid 40's ground was still frozen on many of the tee boxes and had to use an awl just to get the tee in the ground :suds:

Got to a range for the first time yesterday.

All those wedges in the front lawn are starting to pay off.

They had a green and a pin out at about 130 and I was snapping 8 irons and covering the flag one after another.

So I'm hitting 200 wedge shots every day to my pin and flag.

Things are comin' around!

I need to follow that regime...9i and shorter I MUST get better. Odd that I'm a lot better with the 30-60 yd shot than I am with full wedges.

Ditto.

The worst are terrible players that take their games way too serious...like my buddy...torture to play with him unless others he doesn't know are in the group...he can hold it together better then.

We've all been bad at golf...no crime there, but don't make your fkd up round everyone's fkd up round.

Those people are very annoying. I had a buddy who never golfed and then all of the sudden one summer he wanted to go everyday and he wouldn't shut the hell up about it. lol, and he was a fucking hot head. No idea what clicked that made his switch go on like that.

I haven't touched a club since Tuesday's massacre so I should be fresh today. Our home course opens today and I'm pretty sure I'll break 100. Cripes.

Struggled a tad on the first 9 but then needed a putt on the 18th to shoot 39 for that side and holed it so all in all, not too bad.

League starts Wednesday.

My driver has taken a shit. I'm duck hooking the fucker on damn near every shot.

My take away feels good until about waist high, but then my hands feel uncomfortable at the top of my back swing...don't know if that even makes sense.

@fknhippie was this at the range for course...? Just get the club face square at address then take it away and allow time for the arms and wrist to get in place before coming back to address...Might be grip issue.... just thinking out loud don't mind me hahaha
