Gophers march to the 2019 Tourney

Nice win. I wouldn't have thought we could've done it with Murphy only scoring 5 and fouling out. When Badgers were making their run, the old gopher fan in me was going here we go again. Some stiff is going to hit a 3 to beat us

Coffey seems like a special player we haven't had in a while. And that's speaking better than Trevor Mbawke and Rodney Williams. Oturu sure seems to be a promising center.

Coffey can flat out take over games, he should be back for his senior year as I don't think he's NBA ready, although if he feels he'll go in 1st round, he should declare

Our freshman class is pretty promising over all. While big picture I'll take talent from anywhere, MN produces enough bball talent to compete and Pitino needs to do his best to keep instate talent here. Hurt is still an outside chance, but that would be huge to get him here for 2020

Back to 2019, we'll need Coffey to continue to assert himself and find a way to shoot the 3 a little better than we are currently

That was a shitty 2nd half of basketball. I've never seen a team struggle so much with a zone defense, and it's not like it's Maryland specialty. FT shooting was horrendous

Washington continues to be useless. Forces a shot 1 on 4 that lead to wide open 3 for Maryland. He's highest outstate recruit MN has got, but I wouldn't be upset if he transfers

Beating Iowa is always nice, but good to get a win vs good Iowa team that'll help our Tourney resume.

Illinois loss will hurt their rankings, we need to beat them at on our court Wednesday. I would go, but I don't want to venture out in the cold

As I saw it after yesterday, they would be a 12th seed.

Yeah, those 4 straight, hurt... the loss to Michigan on last second shot. The loss to Maryland at home. The loss to Indiana earlier... and that Nebraska game .... flip any 2 of those, and are we even having this conversation?

Can't forget that last year was out of his control.... that was a really good team, derailed by injuries. I think we all expected too much before this season began. Not on the hot seat as of yet.... but next year, he should be.

And the Gophers historically haven't made the tourney all that much (very few back-to-back visits)... even if you include the Haskins years.
