Yeah, but those were those guys first appearances of the pre-season or they had played very little. The cutting back from 4 to 3 pre-season games made teams adjust how they approach it with their starters. I don't know of a team in the league who played their healthy starters more than us, though. Or if they did - you would really have to split hairs to come to that conclusion.

With 4 games - it was absolutely protocol that the final game was for guys fighting for a roster or starting spot. While the established 1's sat. I never saw it be played any different. Not during my lifetime. Game 2 was typically the first extended action for starters, while Game 3 was "dress rehearsal".

Oh, and under Nagy? The Bears have started off 3-1 in each of his first three seasons. Collectively, he is 9-3 in the first quarter of each season. Not exactly a slow start. Nagy only ever rested guys in 2019 pre-season. There was no pre-season in 2020 and in 2018 I believe he went about it in a rather standard fashion.
Anyone catch Tony Dungy on CBS after the second game? This sitting players thru the preseason has got to start. Teams like Minnesota with 8 false start penalties, clearly were not ready.

At least a real expert had the same opinion as me.

But I am sure nobody thought another 25 or so plays with the ones thru preseason in real game situations would not have made a difference with the passing game yesterday.

I mean, I get it, we might have lost an interior offensive lineman too, but a loss is a loss.

Just found it...memory is bad though...Packers weren't at 6...but the "high pedigree offensive line" gave me the double take:

7. Minnesota Vikings*

Minnesota stumbled to a 7-9 season in 2020 after three consecutive winning seasons, but there are plenty of reasons to anticipate a bounceback in 2021. The Vikings have an intriguing, high-pedigree offensive line -- all five projected starters were picked on Day 1 or 2 of the draft since 2018 -- as well as overhauled and upgraded interior defensive line and cornerback units. The defense will also have standouts Barr and Hunter back after the duo missed all but a combined 91 snaps last season due to injury. As if that's not enough, stars Kendricks (who also missed time last season) and Smith are sure to make a big impact.

Mike Zimmer is known for elite defense and, following a rough 2020, he now has the team on paper to get back to that in 2021. Kirk Cousins remains a polarizing player, but he played well last season and led Minnesota to the fifth most offensive touchdowns. He has plenty of support in the form of Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson. Minnesota is on the rise.
Hmmm,

our LT is a rookie, and is currently hurt.
Our center we drafted in first round, well, not a bust, but hasn't lived up to being a first rounder, especially being a center. He's an above average run blocker and horrendous in pass protection.
Our RG isn't good and we drafted his replacement but he's not ready to take over

Cleveland and O'neil are pretty good.

and the O line I expected to see was on display yesterday, a bad o line that makes plenty of mistakes. You could argue our OL is reason we lost as they constantly put us in third and long via penalty

Good ol'Charles......lol

My favorite is Fitz ended up with a hip injury. Leno got beat so bad that he fell down trying to recover and what did he use to stop his fall? Fitz's hip.

Yeah...but at least you didn't come out of the game going "Man I wish they would just stop putting my team on National TV..."

I'm sure this will be the year Nagy figures it out.:rolleyes2:
Was hoping so too. But Nagy has trouble just figuring out his press conferences.

Sept 20, 2021 - Matt Nagy:
“What we’ll have to do is we’ll have to be prepared when we find out exactly what is going on with Andy. Is he able to go? Is he not able to go? Work through all of that stuff. … You got a guy that has been in the league playing quarterback for a long time and you got a guy that has never had an NFL start.”

:L Perhaps a better answer: "We'll be ready."

I'm obviously not the first to say it in recent conversations on our board, but may I be the first to say it at this point of the season:

Fire Matt Nagy.......immediately.

So Nagy said in his press conference today that starting Nick Foles is a possibility....FFS...

These dipsh*ts literally took an offseason where EVERYONE wanted their heads because things were so bad...And had it about faced into the entire fanbase energized and excited with the Fields pick. Then they threw it all down the f*cking toilet in ONE GAME. A game where all that had to happen was they not completely f*ck it up and give the kid a chance to develop/show his stuff.

Nobody reasonable/rational expected a win yesterday...but what did happen most certainly clued us all in as to what shouldn't be happening. One f*cking game. They threw the entire mountain of goodwill they built away with a single draft pick...in a single game.

That's impressive even by lowest of the low dipsh*t standards.

Dude. Foles should've came in the game Sunday.

If Dalton is not ready this week, I would 100 fucking percent start Foles.

Nagy is dogshit, and obviously is utterly unable to coach to a player or team's strength. He will ram a square peg into a round hole, until their is nothing but sawdust. He would've been fired this morning if I were in charge, and Sean Desai would've finished the season as interim HC. Hell, if I was in charge he would've been gone long ago.

Nagy's gameplan was HISTORICALLY inept. Having said that, Fields was just awful.

I totally agree with you on the Nagy firing....not sure ehats taking soo damn long....

And qhat fries my ass,is they stary JF,e ruens in a bad peedormance, and noq they qanna stick Folea in there.....

Rhey already decided to go with Fields, its not all his gailt, our oline and qrs are just godawful....

You gotta give the kid a vote of confidence abd give him the ball again(assuming AD is not ready to go)....

By saying at the pess conference he eants to start Foled,is pulling the rug out from underneath Fields.......

Fields is gonna be good, hes in a horrific position right now.....

54 games into his tenure Nagy repeatedly says during his press conferences, we have to look at "x" or we have to do a better job of "x."

Pace tries to fill Nagy's wish list of player acquisitions and Nagy continues to fail. And he fails miserably.

How long of a leash does this guy get to figure it out?

Nagy just can't seem to fit his offense into the players he has. Wonder if after 4 years he could try a different approach...
