Yup. Nebearsfan70 is here saying the season is over because of a few pre-season possessions. It's nearly football season! Woo! lol

Um yeah, what's exactly the expectation of this team anyway? 7.5 win total from Vegas says facing your seatbelts

I think it's more of a case that we Bears fans have returned to earth. It's an old school take on things, but games are generally won or lost in the trenches. And we got whupped on both sides of the line.

We aint winning shit until we get a real coaching staff. I hope it happens before it's too late for Fields.

Would you want this deal?

I think it's fair to say that both players have their best years behind them. I'd be inclined to not engage in this trade. Not because a healthy Beckham (assuming such) wouldn't improve a lackluster set of receivers, but Hicks remains our most versatile, if not overall best defensive lineman, and we need all the experience we can muster on the DL. Besides, our receiving corps will look a lot better once we have a QB that can get the ball consistently to them. **coughcoughFieldscoughcough**

yet another year of a new quarterback and no reps with the first team offense in real game situations.

Looks to me like its going to take until week 3 or 4 before we see any continuity. Might get some long passes on broken coverage, but all this sit the "studs" when they are not top players in the NFL is just another reason we are screwed.

If this kid had a Bears jersey on...It would reflect my expectations when we get to January:

I mean, yes. I would do it. Hicks is 31 and due to decline at any time now. OBJ would suddenly make a "meh" group of skill players a really good one. Him and ARob would be one of the best duos in the league, without question.

Unfortunately, it's a total pipe dream and just some guy spewing out an idea he had. lol

Hmm. The 1's all played vs Miami and Buffalo. Dalton had plenty of reps with them in those games. Everyone sits their starters final pre-season game. Not sure what you mean.

Everyone? Brady played big minutes, Burrow made his first appearance, Josh Allen made his first appearance, Jones played in New York, everyone does not sit their starters in the final preseason game. DK blew out his knee. Plenty of reps vs Miami and Buffalo, to what result? 2 games 13-21 164 yards, one nice catch and run for a 73 yard score means he was 12-20 for 91 yards with an 82.2 rating. Yes, other than that one pass, you got it a 7 yard average. Thats what Mitch got shit all over for.

My comment just shows zebras do not change their stripes. Nagy sat his "studs" every year fearing injury that he was the coach here, and we have constantly gotten off to slow starts.

Yeah, but those were those guys first appearances of the pre-season or they had played very little. The cutting back from 4 to 3 pre-season games made teams adjust how they approach it with their starters. I don't know of a team in the league who played their healthy starters more than us, though. Or if they did - you would really have to split hairs to come to that conclusion.

With 4 games - it was absolutely protocol that the final game was for guys fighting for a roster or starting spot. While the established 1's sat. I never saw it be played any different. Not during my lifetime. Game 2 was typically the first extended action for starters, while Game 3 was "dress rehearsal".

Oh, and under Nagy? The Bears have started off 3-1 in each of his first three seasons. Collectively, he is 9-3 in the first quarter of each season. Not exactly a slow start. Nagy only ever rested guys in 2019 pre-season. There was no pre-season in 2020 and in 2018 I believe he went about it in a rather standard fashion.

Getting off to a slow start because we didn't play the starters in the final preseason game? That's quite an extraordinary leap you are making there sporty.

How much more evidence do you need since Nagy took over?
Last year total yards, total,
game 1 363
game 2 304
game 3 437
gane 4 269
2019
game 1 252
game 2 388
game 3 164
game 4 226

And its not the final preseason game, its overall time playing together. Most quarterbacks throw for those kind of yards.
