He's dead, so he can't go to any Golden Knights games.

The thing about dead people is that one may review their life's work, their contribution to society and posterity. Samuel Alito was a controversial figure, but, his opinions for the court will impact jurisprudence for some time to come.

The US Army parachute demonstration team has been jumping into sporting events for decades. They demonstrate excellence and promote the US Army.
I have seen them several times. As a wee lad I help fold one of their parachutes between jumps.( meaning I stood there and acted like a weight) The issue is the Army claiming the Army is a sports team. While parachuting may be concerned an extreme sport, I don’t think the Army is a sports team. And even if it was, there are lots of sports teams with the same names and/or colo(u)rs. If you asked 1000 random people if they thought the Vegas Golden Knights and the Army Golden Knights were related, I doubt you would get enough to prove the Army was damaged.

The Army Golden Knights have two main teams who compete in National and International parachuting competitions.

Head-in-the-sand unpatriotic post if ever there was one.

Lol. It was an observation. How is knowledge of a military demonstration team patriotic or unpatriotic? And how is it putting your head in the sand? You put your head in the sand when you learn something and choose to ignore it. I wasn't making a comment on the team at all, just that I don't think most people know what it is. I've heard of the Blue Angels (even seen them twice), but never heard of the Golden Knights' parachute team until this lawsuit.

Chill out, man.

There we go. I learned something.

You and almost everyone else here. I'd say about 99.99% of the general population would have no clue.

Still doesn’t confuse them with the Hockey team.
How does the Hockey team damage the Army parachuting team by having the same name?
There are lots of sporting teams with the same. Unless they can show that a reasonable person might think they are related, which is the Army’s claim, you can have the same name and colors.

At one point, St. Louis alone had two teams named the Cardinals!!

We had for a long time two football teams in Canada named the same (one was spelled Roughriders, the other was spelled Rough Riders)

Before announcing their name for their hockey club, the owners made an inadequate discovery effort. If they did discover the Army parachuting team and elected to ignore it, then, they are at fault for doing so. By using the name of the Army parachute team, they encourage false association among reasonable people. Doing so without prior agreement injures the Army parachute team by diluting their brand. Accordingly, the hockey team's legal position is weak.

I am baffled by the number of posters who dismiss proprietary precedence, favor the hockey usurpers, and dismiss the US Army's position. [Just because the hockey team is presently winning?] The US Army is bigger than the NHL. They've deep pockets. The hockey team would do well to mitigate the situation rather than continue to contest it.

Ask yourself, do you want to be the ones who disrespect the US Army? Do you think your fortunes will rise when the public views you as doing so?

What the heck is in that logo? I see the hockey stick, I know the name of the team, but I can not understand the rest of it

I guess that's supposed to be a skating seal :noidea: As you know Dave, Charlie Finlay was a little out there.

If there was a dog version they could be called the Ruff Riders! LMAO! Hilarious.

Oh the good times we have here......

Same thing happened with me with my prom date.
