BTW, Detrick Bonner just tweeted that he is gonna start out at safety this year. If that means that Jarrett stays at corner, I love this. Bonner was a good tackler and has good size, he just struggled in man to man coverage

Small thing.....

Apparently Joe St. Germaine is out for all of Spring with a hernia, per Goforth. Um, he is our heir apparent at long snapper (kind of an under-appreciated but essential position). Do we have any depth there. Do you develop depth there? Hernias can be a bitch to recover from.

Bet Coach will be looking hard at a number of walkon long snappers during Spring Ball. Walkon Lukas Stump is the only healthy long snapper remaining on the roster.

Had heard this as well. I think this is a great move. Doesn't guarantee that Bonner will finish the offseason at safety but will give the other corners a lot of reps to see where they stand. I think bonner could turn out to be a damn good safety.

Also, this may be something that hadn't been communicated to Farrow a few weeks ago.

Any word on how bad the hernia is?? Either way.. He should be fine by summer I would think. I had a pretty bad one that was surgically repaired and I was back to 100% in a couple months. Once he gets by the "elephant nuts" stage (4-6 weeks) he should be able to start light workouts... plus he is a long snapper so not like he is going to be on the field a ton. I too think the position is underappreciated and crucial. Its really not an easy thing to do and it is great to have another guy (or two) that can do it in a pinch.

Any word on the finality of James Farrow's transfer. The buzz quieted down pretty quick and hadn't seen/heard any confirmation that he was granted the release. Maybe I missed it. With Jarrett and Fuller, corners will be locked down tight.

makes more sense. he has better size than jarrett and did struggle with his coverage a bit much for my liking.

Max Testing 2012 Top Performers from the FREE side of Beamerball.

I'm VERY encouraged by what I'm seeing from the OLs (in red)!

Also, is walkon OL Tyler Barfield in line to win a scholie this coming Spring? If not, what's holding him back?

Schollies only get given out if the guy sees some time on the field. This would be the year for Barfield to go get one as our guard spots (backups at least) are pretty open. Does anyone know if DiNardo has a scholly yet. He will likely get one this Spring if he does not have one now.

I like DiNardo quite a bit....hope he gets a scholie, too.

176 lb cornerback front squats 415....Good Lord!

Did anyone watch the Beamerball videos and notice that Brent Benedict looked to be about 34, ha ha.

Also, Skip looked like he could add another 50 to the bar and not even sweat, ha ha.
