Shanahan was always killing us in dead money

It is amazing to me that we could go from one of the worst when it came to FA pick ups in the early 2000's under Shanahan to now one of the best teams in the league at contracts and finding FA's that turn out so well for us. Amazing how much FO people who know what they are doing can change an entire franchise. I always thought the worst thing the Broncos could have done was give Shanahan FO power. Really any coach for that matter as I can't believe they then did the same thing with McDaniels. Coaches just need to coach. That to me is already a 100 hour a week job when the season is going. No need to then add another full time job on top of that. I always think of the old saying of I would rather do 1 thing 100% than 5 things at 20%.
