Does anyone know the Sharks' record for game 7? How many game 7 did we play? As I recalled correctly that back in 93-94, we beat the Wings and lost to the Leafs. Then beat the Flames the following year. And the last time we played in game 7, which was against the Wings, and we won that game. We lost to the Avalanche when Selanne missed the empty net. Any other game 7...can't be that many ...LOL

Go Sharks!!!

But yeah, none of that stuff matters, really.

Just got back from the game... Man, Im exhausted...

This game 7 is a possible career defining game for the big two. If they come up huge, and propel the sharks to the next round, that will go a long way to dispel their reputations. If they dont show up as in game 5, then it will be another nail in that disappointing legacy... Big time game here...

The rest of the stuff i kind of agree with you, this however i don't. It's time for others to also step up and provide, aka Pavelski and Burns mainly. Logans done so much its hard to say his name. Vlasic has stepped up his game as well.

This is less about thornton and marleau and more about the support or lack there of, both thornton and marleau have had good games in this series, you cant say that about burns or pavelski. It wouldnt hurt it Desi,Wingels,Galiardi and Burish did something as well too.

Burns is still young and new to the team, so I dont think this is a definer of him. Pavs is certainly in that cateogory, but he too is still under 30 and has many years left. The big two are basically 34, so their careers are winding down and their legacies are to be decided soon. Thats really why I spoke of those two, not so much that they are the only keys to winning, but that their legacies are going to be tied to the team's success in the next few years before the hang em up.

It would indeed be lovely to have some depth scoring, but then again havlat and torres out really hurts the depth. It would be very nice to see pavs and burns dominate for sure, and they are crucial. I dont mean to imply that it's only the big 2 and that's it. However, if those two dont show and dont produce, I dont think the sharks can win. With Torres and havlat out, the sharks are thin, and the big two's role gets bigger and bigger. If they show up in LA and beat kopitar, richards and co. then they can erase much of the criticism of being inconsistent and not big game players that has followed both of them for a decade now. It would be really nice to see...

btw, galiardi did do something. He sniped a sweet shot, which turned into the GWG. Be nice if he could do it again and certainly it would be lovely to get a goal from the bottom 6, but to be honest, if they grind it out, draw a penalty or two and dont give up a goal, Ill be fine with it.

Youth is not an excuse for Burns he was brought in to be a game changer, and he's shown glimpses of it. Pavelski is what 28 now he is in his prime he's been with this team for quite some time and is counted on to bring secondary scoring and help to Patty and Jumbo.

They are both failing at it, Thornton and Marleau are honestly having very a good overall playoff that cant be said of pavelski or burns. You can thrown in Wingels,Galiardi, and Desi as well. All these guys need to support Patty,Thornton and now Couture.

Your theory of Thornton and Marleaus legacy was brought up the year they were huge in taking out the wings before getting curb stomped the following round. This is probably the best supporting cast they've had around them but the supporting cast isnt supporting them lol.

Bottom line this isnt on just Joe,Logan and Patty its now on the guys who are there to help them which isnt happening

I would have to disagree with regards to Burns, I think he has been showing quality minutes during this series and has mostly done so. If he isn't on that line with Joe that line accomplishes about 1/2 of what it has done so far - especially when Greene was polishing the ice with TJ's face. Maybe the beer is hitting my vision a little hard but I see him consistently pressuring, hitting, and fore checking, and getting into scoring areas.

That being said - this doesn't happen because 1 or 2 guys carry the team. Regardless of whether Patty or Joe have big games or not if the Sharks are dusting off golf clubs this weekend the stigmata will be the same. Those two are the big names, they are paid the big dollars and so its automatically their fault. I think they have both been much different players this year, and thus that characterization is unfair - but it is what it is.

Pav - no argument there. There is a clear contrast when he is skating, going to the front of the net, and getting involved in the fore check and I don't think hes bringing it - or LA just knows how to marginalize how exceedingly well.

Regardless - a team effort is what gets us to the next round, not a standout performance of 1 or 2 guys imho. This game is for all the marbles in their house - and the pressure is going to be high.

Id like to add my 2 sence - To win Game 7, Niemi has to be perfect... Quick is going to be, just like he has been all series . Niemi has to match that and may the first goal win...

Lets take some blame off Marleau & Thornton, cause without Niemi resorting back to old Niemi in game 2 (the one that was natorious for quick muliple GA's) SJ would be waiting for the winner of Chi/Det right now...

He is the biggest key to winning Game 7

I agree that Nemo needs to actually steal a game I don't think that can be said at all during his current playoff run where as atleast 2 games you can say quick has stolen this series.
