Good win by the Sharks - get it to game 7 that was THE only goal for tonight and that is mission accomplished. Appreciate all the booze/oily food everyone ate for the voodoo tonight!

Line 4 looked really good. Clearly Burish is what makes that line tick and we really needed it. Line 3 had another head scratcher of a game... not sure what is going on there. TJ made of for that egg he laid in game 6 - but LA gets the lineup matches so he better figure out how to deal with Greene. In fact, Todd should start figuring out that game ASAP.

One thing we still are not doing, and I really wish we would, is play THROUGH these guys. A lot of times it seems like we wait to attack the puck carrier late and when we do wave a stick at the puck trying to get it going the other way. I would like to see them take the puck and the body, make the physical play and give an opportunity for the second guy to get in on the puck.

Lets get it done!

Game 7, 5 PM start? That is early for the west coast on a weeknight. Thankfully I work a shifted schedule to beat traffic, so I will out of the office by 3 PM well before the game starts. Not missing one minute of it.

Thank you NHL!

Pavelski needs to show up the most. He has been flat out invisible in this series. Too rough for him?

honestly no, hes really not even being played that hard physically by LA he's just taken himself out of the game playing the perimeter. He's just doing the normal Pavelski 3 week vacation from playing hockey, that being said he hasnt been as piss poor in his own end as usual during this slump so thats a plus.

Ive yet to see him make a play to drive the net once this series, even Couture has been driving and hes banged up and smaller then Pavelski. Somebody needs to tell him whats up

Pavs and Marleau's stocks have been declining lately. Pavs hurt?

Marleaus been fine, Pavelski on the other hand not so much. Marleau has had a ton of scoring chances, and using his speed to beat the LA defense and drawing penalties, pavelski has been falling down and staying to the outside

Just got back from the game... Man, Im exhausted...

Thoughts:

1. GREAT 3rd period. no prevent D, kept the foot on the gas, outworked LA and just a great effort. I was soooo happy to see it!

2. Sharks grizzed vets on D were amazing. Hannan on multiple occasions made great play to beat the kings forwards on dump-ins. Great battle overall by the sharks D.

3. Horrific PP. Yes, they got the 5-3 goal, but it took well over a minute and they had zero real chances on the other 7 PP mins. They were stagnant and waaaay too fine. They are looking for the tap-in goal on quick instead of getting guys to the net and firing away. Look at Cooch's goal in fame 4 off the boyle shot. That is the kind of PP goal they need. Also their PK was very very shaky, so if they march the box in G7, its toast.

4. Terribad goal on nemo, but then again he had a few good saves. Also galiardi's snipe was awesome, but probably quick wants that one back.

5. The first period was atrocious. They had zero shots in the last 13 minutes and just stunk. If the sharks are so inconsistent in game 7, they will be crushed. They have to give the effort they did in the 3rd period all game. If they do, they can win...

wooo, Im tired.

This game 7 is a possible career defining game for the big two. If they come up huge, and propel the sharks to the next round, that will go a long way to dispel their reputations. If they dont show up as in game 5, then it will be another nail in that disappointing legacy... Big time game here...

Six teams left in the PO's: Detroit (2008 Cup Winners), Pittsburgh (2009 Cup Winners), Chicago (2010 Cup Winners), Boston (2011 Cup Winners), Los Angeles (2012 Cup Winners), and the San Jose Sharks.

It's a sign!

Agree about the PP. Sharks MUST make this better in Game 7 and convert. Then take that 3rd period neutral zone play into LA and we might just get it. Win this game and there's a big chance SJ makes it to the SCF.

I firmly believe they need to bring the body BIG TIME in LA. It needs to look like 60 minutes of that period 1 in game 4: Physical, abusive, hustling to loose pucks, relentless shots on net. The more we play in their zone the better off we are for sure - and we are FAR more likely to draw penalties and take the crowd out of it.

If we resort to careful, cautious hockey none of us will have fingernails and chances are good that the links will have some new players.

The thing I don't get about the PP... they said they practiced it the last couple days A LOT (or something like that).... especially entries into the zone.

And what do they do on the first PP?

Three consecutive failed carry-into-the-zone-on-the-left-side identical plays.

Are you fucking kidding me?

The coaching is terrible. We need someone who has a clue behind the bench. Hint: McLellan does not.

The problem with the PP as I saw it was stagnation. All 5 guys standing still. LA's 1st PP was awesome and I was watching and literally all 5 guys were moving constantly. It opens up lanes, one timers, confuses the PK and is basically impossible to stop. The sharks get into position and drop anchor so its realllly easy to block passes and clear pucks. This was true on the 5-3 goal too as their D should have blocked that pass.

The sharks are waaay to lazy on the PP. They sit around looking for the perfect pass which inevitably gets blocked. They are afraid to shoot and crowd the net and it's gunna bite them in G7 if they dont figure that out.

So true about the PP. They must know Quick's weaknesses and yet over the last few games they failed to exploit that save for JT's goal last night. The way you beat the LA PK is to always keep moving, block Quick's vision, then get either a redirect or run a back door. No other way.
