Remember the Lions game? Where it actually was a questionable TD catch by Pettigrew, and the fucker in the booth wasn't sending down the review page, and Harbaugh had to look like an idiot and throw the flag for a challenge?

If it was automatic, Harbaugh wouldn't have had to throw that flag 30 seconds later when the Lions were lining up to kick the Extra Point

right, but according to Mike P, they were reviewing "Everything" so, say Crabtree did something that was actually illegal? they can cancel the play when there was no flag?

our understanding, challenges cannot be made for penalties.... so would a penalty surface if indeed something was actually illegal?

Go look up the rule, every scoring play is reviewed in the booth, if they feel it is questionable they send in down to the refs. And I believe in the Lion game Harbaugh got told he couldnt challange
